Rest in peace Woody. I know you brought the Stoke to everyone who just had a powder country lap. Hope you can keep driving that big blue school bus in the sky.

Went up to the top of lcc to ski the angry inch... ~1" damp at the top of the road, maybe 2-4" above 10k' with the rain/snow line somewhere between 7500'-8k' around 8am driving down. Snowing fairly heavy at times, wet sluffs on S facing, visibility absolute shite. E bowl > W Bowl > Flag. Tomorrow could be pretty nice...

Have a bird day to use still so thinking of going up friday or saturday AM. Anyone care to join and use mineral to go ski alta?
Admittedly I'm a noob at making that happen, but I assume snowbird is letting people hike from the top of hidden peak up baldy? And a car shuttle at wildcat would seem helpful.

You can ski right back via blackjack. You can also access backside if Cham chutes are opened. Use gravity to take you as close to top of baldy express as possible and hike the last couple hundred yards. My bet is that if you find bobby danger he will be doing the same thing and you can tag along. He is how I learned the best ways to ski a closed Alta from snowbird.
Have fun.

Naaaa I typically went straight through from opening bell to 2-230ish on most any day, pow or otherwise. While we all prefer untracked lines, I mostly knew how to find good skiing when the "couple run" folks split because it was "too tracked out".
I just like when alta gets super smooth after closing and provides copious amounts of corn skiing.

naw, you saw me as we drove by ya good day out there for sure. Nice smooth surface.
Good meeting ya up there as well. I was just remarking this morning that one of things I like about spring skiing are summit naps while you wait for the snow to soften. I shot ya a PM with my number if you ever wanna ski or need someone to ski with, I like to ski and am easily talked into skiing

Checked out Wolverine today, was still a bit firm when we dropped into Granny's around noon. Seemed like most of the avy debris is smoothing out. The home run line down Microwave was primo corn.

Been a great few weeks! I think the snowpack has transitioned seamlessly and to the victor goes the spoils or something like that. High Fructose Corn Syrup for everyone!
Last tuesday skied Tuk since it was on the way back from the San Juans. parking lot fire and sunset.
skied tuklear reaction (SSE face of tuk) right at corn o'clock.
snow goes to la sal pass road
then dipped into the only basin people seem to ski in the la sals
congo line up Tuk. do you think this mountain has become more popular because someone put it on their published list? and then some other dude's decided to ski that dude's list?
Thursday was good. The angry inch helped smooth things out.
Saturday, slept in. Luckily, I have understanding ski partners and we were able to salvage the day by skiing the SE face off red baldy followed by a run down long john silvers. Snowbird is the best resort in Utah. When all the gates are open and their neighbor is closed, snowbird is ze best no doubt. tons of snowbirders hitting up the sidecountry and ruining my moment of zen. Just kidding, I enjoyed the party on Red Top.
Sunday, skied North Basin off the middle peak of Nebo. Peak to creek for 4600’ vert of creamy corn. Good times.

Looking good out there! Currently trying to decide between Squaw and Snowbird (and environs) this weekend for a couple days of skiing on my way out to San Fran for business next week. They should both get some new snow toward the end of the week (so much for spring skiing, huh?)......but which to roll the dice on? Current airline reservations are to SLC, the Bird is handing out free lift tickets with lodging, and I’ve been eying up Red Baldy, so I’m leaning, just gotta finalize!

Can't speak to Squaw but things are unbelievable out here for May. Red Baldy should be skinable from the parking lot, and every aspect is filled up. Skied the NE shot as well as Rock n Roll so far this year and both times were great.
Tanners this morning was a little less than great...
Easy booting up the bottom half or more turned into a bit of a wallowfest... a bad omen we chose to ignore
From the top, with feeling
snowaddict91 smiling because there's nothing to do but laugh once you're up there. If we do get a decent freeze, the coverage is there... maybe 10 mins on the informal hiking trail and you hit continuous snow (well, continuous "snow"), but not recommended tomorrow morning, for example. A few inches of dense spring snow would do wonders up there though...
...now for some serious P-Tex work on my bases

I've been gone the last couple of weeks and reading through this thread has been giving me the serious FOMOs. Now I have to get my sea level lungs back in shape.
