Stoked on the growth in Japan. Last year we had 2 Qualifiers. This year we have 4Qs and 4Juniors. http://freerideworldtour.jp . The JP tour producer has been killing it selling events around the country.
Win the qualifying tour here and you're on the world tour next year. It's a good season to spend time in Japan if you're an athlete.

Dang, I leave Japan on the 19th. Would have been fun to watch, although it'll probably just get snowed out again.

I want AK back. To me, that was the coolest event by far because IMO, AK is the cutting edge of freeride skiing. Verbier is just too damn scary, exposed and consequential IMO. AK (despite the weather issues), seemed to have the best conditions and terrain for the athletes to "comfortably" push their limits without the very probable risk of dying if they fell (like verbier).

Agreed on AK. But the weather sure makes it tough / expensive.

Totally agree. I think the tour should have a range of venues that encompass the full range of freeride terrain of which verbier's uber exposed, technical terrain is most certainly a part. I just think that the AK stop was the most enjoyable to watch, in large part because it looked like the most enjoyable for the athletes to ski. But the weather and logistics were a nightmare, so it seems. Too bad.
Verbier seems like an event where the athlete stoke comes at the end, from making it down the line alive. Just a pure, cheated death adrenaline rush. AK seemed like the stoke came from having best time ever while skiing the line itself, you know? Different strokes for different folks, for sure, on this one though.

I look forward to it every year and really wish they'd put snowbird back in the mix. So rad to see it firsthand

So which events would you get rid of in favour of the above mentioned?

I dig the Andorra venue, but agreed on Japan. I'd love to see the Kirkwood venue return.

I'd add Revy back, I'd like to see what Japan would have with a good weather window... Snowbird venues are meh from the historical, most of the time the same line wins standpoint, but I did love watching it.
Kirkwood could be fun again... I really wish Tram face happened at Squaw.www.dpsskis.com

formerly an ambassador for a few others, but the ski industry is... interesting.
Fukt: a very small amount of snow.

Freeride World Tour - 2019
Isn’t Andora where alto had the run of the season and crashed on the cat track at the bottom?
Tram face at Squaw would be damn hard to pull off. There’s maybe a few days a season where it’s both filled in enough and stable, if any. I’m staring up at it as I type this and it would be looking pretty bleak if they were planning on It this year.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Andorra looks like a great venue. Snowbird doesn't have enough vert to satisfy most competitors and it would have to be close for a week or two to public beforehand. Revy was an amazing venue.
