I'll get to Rueras on the eve of the 17th, coming from Klosters.

vendul should be able to hook you up too, or if not, try Lars @basecampandermatt .

There's always some seedy crazy Scandies around, ready for pow.

I'm there the eve of the 16th, but plan to ski groomers with the wife on the 17th. I'll be up for something more adventurous on the 18th if conditions pan out (and things look great so far).

Buster: Klosters is my most likely destination for part 2 of the week. Have you settled on lodging there yet?

Yeah, the Wynegg is a gourmando restaurant with some rooms above. I got one with bath down the hall, they do have ensuite.

Klosters is a little more chic and Davos has a few less expensive places.

It's central, 1/2 km to the Klosters Platz train station.

I would not overlook St. Moritz/Corviglia, the skiing in that area is amazing and it's a nice place for the ladies. vendul had offered to drive us over there one day if conditions warrant.

I’ll be rolling in the night of the 17th. I figure the best way to take care of jet lag will be to be skiing bright and early the next morning.

I’ve still got 3 days open between bbi and when I have reservations in st Anton. I figure I’ll make a game time decision a week or so early depending on conditions. If things keep up, I should have plenty of good options.

The downside with Air France is that you are at the mercy of worker strikes. Usually only in the summer but you never know. I got screwed with an 8 hour layover delay in Paris. Never again.

Rips, aren’t they good about announcing ahead of time and sticking to the strike schedule?

I like the transportation strikes in France, at least they're honest about the class warfare.

easy to say when it doesn't affect you. you should talk to the guys in my office. 5-6 hours to get home to lyon when it should take 2 hours. hooray for strikes!

it did affect us once, the train strike delayed a Paris to Grenoble link a day.

    I remain amused.

Yep, not great. Just worth mentioning that they do seem to stick to schedules. Buddy went to Paris for a second honeymoon and landed amidst a week long garbage workers strike.
