Well of course there is only one pair in the bag. Just make sure it's not too heavy and they won't look...

I always take one pair with touring bindings for three reasons. 1. ability to travel up hill is a requirement for high mountain itineraries. Even if you are not touring per se, I have had to slap the hides on for a varied of reasons (poor route finding, flat egress, etc.), 2. If the conditions warrant lift served freeride (powder), then I'm cool with touring bindings. 3. It is what all my European idols do.

Hope you guys get some flying done today.

Depends on the airline. Airline I'm flying tomorrow says to throw in the kitchen sink as long as the bag is 190cm or less, and 23kg.

After fretting about a canister learned that at Venduls place you can rent the Scott Alpride pack (elec. air bag) for 10/day. Thought I’d put that out there. Been wanting to check them out.
Schedule looks tasty - look forward to rippin with y’all !

I'm re-thinking my plan to ski Engelberg the weekend of the 23rd as we have a few friends from London planning on meeting us for the weekend. They aren't serious skiers. Has anyone here skied Mürren / Wengen / Lauterbrunnen?

Only been to that area in the summer. Really beautiful but that doesn't help with the skiing beta obviously. Maybe consider Davos/Klosters too? Only 2 hours from Zurich Flughaven and my research indicates it has extensive "flattering" intermediate skiing. I'm going there from Vendul's middle of the week next week.

Just got a cheap Friday night flight to Frankfurt and a hotel down the valley from Venduls for 19th - 22nd then no real commitments for the weekend, just gotta get to Italy on Tuesday. Looks like I have a ton of reading to do about gear, tickets, insurance, etc.

Anyone heading out of SEA able to carry a shovel for me? I'm not certain I can fit it in my bags for the return flight without paying a bunch extra.
Rent a shovel? Can’t be more than like 10chf a day I would guess.

Easy skiing possible in Davos Klosters with some fun side country. Happy to show people around (I should be around).

Yes. Wengen is a gem. Mürren very pretty too but the skiing on the Schilthorn won’t be fun for beginners slash whatever you call your friends. Stay in Wengen or Grindelwald and make the day trip over to Piz Gloria. Ask the CH Mags about snow. I haven’t been following.

Today should be fun in the trees. And mags: i might ve in andermatt tomorrow because engelberg had to much wind and higher rain. (and terrain is not what i want for the warmth spike with 100 people dropping 8n on me ) If you're interested in some local (as far as a weekend warrior can have) knowledge let me know.

I can say 100% where i go this afternoon and post here if im there.

Slopped around at disentis in the trees until it got too sloppy. Padded seats style snow, the alpy crew would feel right at home.

Tomorrow up high will be legit.
