    Dogs in bars, Like, WTF??

People bringing their animals in to bars and restaurants like they're kids? Sometimes letting them stroll around and beg for food from other customers.. saying ain't that cute?

at my neighborhhod bar, the regulars occasionally bring their dog in but they stay on the floor and I'm okay with that because dogs are awesome.
letting the dogs in the chairs and up on the tables is not okay, you can do that at home but not in public.

Yeah. Dogs can stay, but patrons should get to vote on whether the owners can be there or not.

I like dogs and don't mind well behaved dogs in breweries, but I rarely take my dog into a brewery. I just don't want to deal with the hassle or the liability since there's usually a lot of kids running around. My dog likes to nip at kids the last thing I need is having some brat telling his mom that my dog bit them. Even if he didn't do this, I'd rather not hassle with my dog when at a bar, but I'll gladly enjoy other people's well behaved dogs.

It's all fun and games until 5 other people also show up with their dogs. Then, it's a freaking bouncing around bark fest..

Kids in bars, dogs in bars, only difference is whether the parents/owners are allowed to act like fools or not.

My friend runs a bar in Bham called Paws for a Beer, it's basically a dog park that serves beer.

I usually ask the dogs people if it’s OK if I give the dog a piece of whatever it is I’m eating. With kids, I usually just give em a few gulps of beer or skittles without asking.

I feel that people who have emotional support dogs should not be allowed in bars. The fact that you can't get through a session at the bar without a dog is proof that you are a fucking liability to the establishment, and probably a lunatic who cannot handle their booze.

We sat at the bar at a local restaurant last week and had a drink and an app, this older couple down the bar had their little dog ON the bar. Like one of those little dogs people think they have to carry around. And dress. I’m not ok with that. On the floor, fine. But not on the bar.

Unless your dog is >50#, leave it at home! No one likes a tiny hyper-active yap box when trying to relax with a beer. Bring your Newfie, Dane, and Mastiff on in...leave your damn Cocker Spaniel at home!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

my little terrier sits calmly, looking at me every now and then with an expression like "what is this asshole giant dog doing", while my parents' newfoundland spazzes out running around slobbering on everyone.

He says to tell you he's offended by your prejudice.

Haha, this. Tomba is a Mastiff/Lab cross and is a wonderful bar dog. People love him in Canada, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

By me there is a bar called Bark and Brew and it caters to dog owners. There is a dog menu and a an outdoor dog park if the owner doesn't want the dog inside.
