    Bert and Ernie

With Bert and Ernie out, or perhaps not out, this is the place to hear your thoughts on their relationship, or recount their on-screen hijinks.

Frank Oz claimed that muppets had no sexuality. But can he be believed?

It's been reported that the original creator didnt write them as a gay couple. The writer that's making the news is not the creator. How he wrote it, is how HE wrote it. I dont care either way. They were created in the late 60s so it's unlikely they were an "out" gay couple. Different times and all.

I always thought they were brothers. I shared a bed with my brother. I'm not gay AFAIK.

Yeah as Bob said, after a furious tickle session Elmo could be manipulated into things.

I always thought they were just good friends too. Never struck me as bi. Bert was genuinely uninterested in women, and Ernie seemed kinda scared of them. I guess the mystery remains until one writes a "tell all," like Sally did about the other Burt.

My buddy did the lights and sound for the Muppets tour show for 20? years. Most of that time the 2 guys playing them were gay. So that means the characters were gay. Like all fictional characters.

    Same here.
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Their heads are completely different shapes. So if that's the case Ernie must have been a C-section baby, and Bert, well...or they had different dads?

    5. Those were innocent times.

I'm imagining it now to be more like Benny as Burt and he has a younger guy roommate to help with the costs and to look after his cats and the condo while he (Benny) travels the world.

I’m A Gay Dad And I Want My Son To Know Bert And Ernie Of ‘Sesame Street’ As A Couple

"Two gay Muppets who love and respect each other appearing on a kids show might sound like an absurd idea to many people, but no more absurd than a “weirdo” loving a chicken, or a frog marrying a pig. And in this case, those gay Muppets just might change ― or save ― someone’s life one day."

Don't know if they are gay or not, the whole point is "IT DOESN'T FUCKING MATTER."

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

oh it really does. every permutation of gender and race and sexual orientation has to be represented

and it is really important if you are a gay white man. how dare a children's show not have a gay male white couple for his precious little son

I will never watch sesame street again....

You’re right. At your age it’s probably time for you to move up to the Electric Company.
