I'm last minute hitting the 930pm far out show tonight.
I will also be available for signing things. My name was mentioned in Powder Mag once.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Thought the TGR film last night was ok, not great, not awful. Biggest win was they are serving beer at the all ages show so I get to drink while I take my kids lol. Full house though and props to Fresh for putting it on. Hoji movie is premiering next weekend as well

I’ll be at the 6:30 show tonight with Mrs. Merlyn and the Merlynette. Happy to hear I can get a beer at the all ages show.
Hopefully will be at the Hoji premiere next weekend.

Nice work Gary. Looks like your skiing in Ptarmigan Cirque? good coverage to ski? Highwood was on the radar but we figured every calgarian with a MEC membership would be out there...lol
Anywaty-We opted for Athabasca but got snowed out on Sunday. Weather report was 100% wrong... Ended up with turns from the summit of Parkers. Mixed bag of moon turns, breakable crust, boilerplate and knee deep pow. Very rockies...haha
Looks sweet Spooky. Mntlion was right #mrsunshine...

Thanks teamdirt, nice to be out skiing in the mountains again for sure. We were on the other side of the highway (Mt Tyrwhitt side). Route here:
I also figured the place would be packed, but no-serry-bob, probably a good thing as there would have been injuries haha. So on that note, snowpack was pretty skinny but there was a snowpack. Most of the top 3/4 of the run was deep enough to avoid hitting bottom without much effort (and was good pow to boot), bottom couple of hundred feet were "be light or be hurt" type of skiing (also good pow, just not much else if you know what I mean). We put skins on for the final 100 vert ft before hitting the out trail proper.
We were also wondering about the forecast, but it did come around later in the day and we were happy for our ultra late start. Parkers sounds great
Nice job on the vid Spooky. Hopefully I can ski some green runs with you and mtnlion and some other rocky mags this year.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Thanks all.
Here's an extra from the cutting room floor. It might explain why they dropped the talking bits from the final cut...

So I've been skiing the last couple of weekends (Purple/Hero's in K Country and Bow Summit), and I don't really want to go back to not skiing.
It seems like the Icefields area is escaping the worst of the recent heat. Does anybody know the base at Parker's? Is the 50cm rule still in effect?

The discount card details are out now.
Louise lost Castle and Revelstoke to Sunshine.
Casltle's new card costs 80 and gives you half price tickets all year...but no free days. I think Marmot did this last year.
RCR's card is unchanged.

Nice pics Mike! Way to get after it!
How was lower 1/4 of Bow Summit?
Thanks for the beta on the cards.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Thanks Gary!
And thanks for the HW update.
We skied about half-way from tree-line to the road. Snow was getting thinner lower down, and those Christmas trees weren't very well buried. Didn't hit much, but it was more trouble than it was worth down low. So...back up again.
Skiing was really good at treeline though. The open alpine had seen a lot of wind, so we appreciated the shelter at treeline.
We went up and down on the summer road and old fire road. Great coverage above the upper lot. No ice, but some ruts forming in the steeper part of the descent.
The (closed) road to the upper lot was really thin (probably plowed before the big dump). It was less than 5cm deep. Solidly packed though. There were a couple of very small bare spots on Saturday but we skied to and from the car without issues.

Mike-Parkers will be good as there will be patch/drift skiing in the gullys. The snowpack was thin up there. Less then Bow summit but I think you will still get decent turns. I think Parkers has the ban but Hilda ridge (straight up from the Hilda hostel, further right of the ridge) does not have the ban. Have fun
