Anyone been in the Dive lately? How is it skiing? A few buddies are flying in this weekend and we're debating whether it's worth them bringing avy gear for a few laps in there given the dry spell.

It's not moguls It's not great but really not that bad, nice grippy snow and good coverage. Went for a second lap yesterday over Milky Way and it was skiing soft actually, maybe some deposit and sun helping...I hit a lot of covered sharks there so ski light, closer to the rope line I don't think is sharky. The bottom is soft although with the cold nights this weekend, any pow in the shade is really slow/grabby. I mentioned it in the other thread that I hooked up with two Euros here for the week coming from pow filled Austria (it's warmed up too much there recently) and for mediocre conditions, they were ok with it...albeit they did go for early beers.

If you are coming from Ed, is it really that much more gear for a small pack with beacon, shovel, probe? why not take it?

Photo of the Dive today from Goats Eye. I'm heading in tomorrow and am expecting as robnow described (thanks for the intel robnow). I can update tomorrow if you wish, but likely unchanged from his description.

    Hi,

Anyone heading out to Sunshine or Lake Louise in the next few days and doesn't mind a tag a long? Have avi gear and keen for Delerium Dive. Also thinking of heading over to KH on Thu on the banfftours deal if anyone wanted to join. Give me a shout on Whatsapp +447814230894 or instagram: andy2lis

    Cheers,
    Andy

Into the Dive today with Mrs. singlecross. Snow conditions just as robnow described with chalky windbuff and some bony spots. Photo looking down Milky Way but we found the snow to be better in Galaxy 3 after traversing in. Found some leftover fresh at the bottom of Sweet and Low outside the old avy debris. Everything in there is very straightforward as mntlion had told me. Photo of Dive labeled as a future reference for visitors like us. Thanks for the intel gents... Good times in the Canadian Rockies on a bluebird day!

Nice pics, brotha! Glad you've got some bluebird vistas and great viz. Will the Powder Poncho deliver?

Not sure the Powder Poncho knows the exchange rate for Canada... the conversion to C* and cm might be confusing it. Maybe it only works at Bridger?! You guys have gotten the goods.

Thoughts sent your way for the service on the Ridge yesterday and sorry for the community loss. Looks well remembered. Peace.

Skied a cool line at Castle a coupla days ago. Apparently it's called Saddle Sore. Runs from near the top of the ski area down towards the Syncline drainage.

Castle is skiing pretty good these days. A bit of fresh, some wind and she's game on again.

    Thanks AP.

As my time at Castle, and in the Rockies draws closer to the end (cue melodramatic soundtrack) I'm happy to say that I've gotten some lines I've known about for 5 or 6 years now. Living on hill at Castle has been a dream and a rush. Although my knee has been bitching lately, I've still managed to get a very good number of days of great skiing, and a bunch of fun adventuring. The last few days have been such a blast. First, hooked up with one of the off duty pro patrol and knocked off a couple of Castle classics.

6 Shooter was our first run on Saturday.

The line was on lookers left. Sunday was time to go across the Castle river on the east side to Barnaby Ridge. Had an awesome day with Vivian and one of her co-workers.

We skied the line on lookers left. Castle's getting dumped on right now so tomorrow should be a pow fest.
