Stevie Y is leaving the Lighting, we are all hoping for the obvious...
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

As a Jets fan, turned oilers fan and now a fan of both - I would not know this feeling.
I think the jets will regress in the standings but still make the playoffs this season.
I have no clue about the oilers - they haven’t made enough changes to give me any hope of a turn-around. But, mcdavid could carry them into the playoffs if they don’t continue to be awful on D. It’ll be a telling season for draisaitl, nurse, pupjujarvi and the crop of young players with “promise.” If they don’t make a big step forward I see it being blown up as the only solution, but how can you do that with mcdavid there?"...if you're not doing a double flip cork something, skiing spines in Haines, or doing double flip cork somethings off spines in Haines, you're pretty much just gaping."

I would think if they had to they could trade a couple of their younger, promising players for some solid veterans. Not a blow up, almost the opposite of what teams normally do during a re-build. Unless of course that would bring salary cap issues, which is possible.

Got the window flags up on the Forester. \Kids is getting his hockey stick Hurricanes flag. Headed over to the arena to check out Hurricanes versus Predators. Hoping to keep the undefeated streak rolling! Should be fun either way. They're having a lot of other PR events before the game too. We usually get to 2-3 games per season.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Looks like Wilson is headed for another big suspension. The season hasn’t even started. I’m a Caps fan, but his shit needs to stop.

I am pretty surprised I have not heard from my diehard Caps-fan kid this morning rubbing my nose in it. 7-0 ??? Fuck.
On the bright side the Bruins have clearly defined their way forward: Get better at everything.

That game last night (Caps/Bruins) totally exceeded all of my expectations. The Caps fan in me expected them to come out and lose, I just hadn't decided if it was going to be a disappointing close one, or a blowout.
Did not expect 2 goals in the first 2 minutes.

Caps llighting the lamp early this year. Man are they fun to watch.
My Wild didn’t do much to give me much hope. Looked old and slow (which we are). Home opener tomorrow vs Vegas. Pumped to get back to the arena for some hockey.

Flyers schooled the knights. I like the addition of jvr back into the lineup. I couldn't believe it when they traded him.

Surprised, but not surprised Quenneville was fired. Rumors buzzing after last season and this seasons start. It’s not his fault they are where they are. Three Cups and resulting big salaries strapped the team. All the depth left as a result.
I guess we live in a, “what have you done for me lately” world.
I think he gets Yeo’s job in St Louis, or his pick of jobs when the season ends.
My Wild off to a better start than I predicted. Stoked to see that. Rough west coast swing this week.

Kind of amazing to me that Quenneville got the boot. Not justified I'd say.
On the bright side, Ulf got fired too. I hope he has to give blowjobs for quarters down at the bus station the rest of his life.
Sadly, Kevin Dineen got shown the door as well. Always been a fan of KD. Anyone else remember the Kevin Dineen at PowMag?

Went to the Ducks/Flames game last night in Anaheim. It was just the organ player for the Canadian anthem, then some woman came out for the US anthem. Guess she didn't know the words? I've gone to plenty of games down here both NHL and AHL, don't think I've ever seen it where someone doesn't sing both.
The game wasn't great, lots of sloppy play by both teams and not much for exciting plays.

My Wild are clicking right now after a poor start to the season. Didn’t see this coming. Even if we regress a bit more towards the mean, I’ll take it.
