I don't care who you are, carving can be a shit load of fun. I wouldn't trade a pow day for it though.

Exactly. But, as we all know, pow days don't always happen. On non-pow mornings when the bulk of the crowd are either sleeping it off or just finishing off their all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet, or what have you, I love getting on the untracked corduroy and ripping top to bottom without any people on the runs. It's a blast but, as you noted, not the same as a pow day. Regardless, there are a whole bunch of skiers who don't really like skiing pow all that much for whom carving is just as much fun, if not more, than we have with powder.

Yup. See the old EpicSki board (RIP) for some of that.

Don't get me wrong, I love carving ( X racer) but if you want to show how fun carving is then at least get some angulation going!

Hunter Mtn. skier here. Watched the video. I don't get it. Why would you use carving skis on all that powder?

I like to pretend that carving is fun so that I don't cry about the early season conditions here in Tahoe every year.

edit: not enough to make a cheesy video about it though.

Aye, maybe they should have bothered to find a few people who could actually ski well.

Maybe the marketing strategy here is to make it more relatable to the average consumer?

Isn't carving just skiing anyways? Even in pow.

Come on now, it wasn't that bad! I bet they ski as good as 95% of people on this board. Hehe.

It seems like that ski is being marketed as a one ski quiver, wonder ski. I've never really liked having an exaggerated side cut for skiing deep, untracked snow. It kind of sucks. The guys in that skis promo vid looked like they were having fun though.

What ski is it? Agreed on the pow ski thing.
It sure did. Nice shifty air over that roller.

Line Sakana. Looks fun, but as a specific carving ski?

105mm, and 15m turn shape = not that fun in my world. But I'm sure someone likes it

Turn radius that short is dumb in 3d snow.

But for the spring snow they're skiing in that vid -- well it all felt pretty groovy and spot on to me.

Never thought to have a "spring" ski in my quiver. But I could imagine something that's stupid fun on corn, slush bumps and jibbing around that is a bit softer than most my other skis.

I'm with Schindler, my carving skis are usually my old, beat, 98mm underfoot enforcers. Also my rock skis, etc.
    No longer stuck.

That ski looked like a lot of fun for what they were doing.
