I've got on on those Savage 22/.410s, That ol' piece is loud! I had a 7-4 Izhmash biathlon till a couple of years ago, that piece could drive tacks. Much better gun than I was a marksman.

Haha, strong work keeping this thread poorly informed (as if it needed help). Last day of summer is tomorrow (Saturday) not yesterday (ok today is the last full day - still, not yesterday)

Tell us about the last time you where in the upper Yellowstone river drainage. Did you fish Howell creek, Escrapment creek, Trappers creek? Yea go validate it and then come back on here and tell us all about how every single fish have been fished to before.

Oh and while you're out there validating, keep an eye out for my tripod I dropped on the trail somewhere. I'll buy you a twelver of your choice if you find it. Now run a long boy, put on your big boy hiking boots and get validating.

I think everyone here appreciates your motivation to go do interesting stuff and likely nobody here appreciates that you seem to want to prove how doing interesting stuff makes you a better person than most of humanity.

Isn't like 95% of American life kind of dominated by Douchebag versus Douchebag warfare, in one form or another? The minority of us who are awful assholes battle it out and we all get caught in the crossfire, spending our tax money on wars and prisons, spending our weekends fixing the proverbial bullet holes in our proverbial drywall.

I appreciate the old British logic of shipping The Awful off to another continent. It's a shame we now lack for a penal continent, I feel like us "normals" are overdue for some fucking peace and quiet and general prosperity already.

Man I sure hated to post and run but my wife and I had to head out on our long anticipated backpacking trip in the Washakie wilderness and into Yellowstone. We started in the Eagle creek drainage just outside the E entrance of Yellowstone. Went up over the Absaroka Range crest thru Eagle pass and dropped into Yellowstone. Down the Howell creek drainage to the upper Yellowstone river drainage, hooked up with the Thorofare trail. Followed that north along Yellowstone lake to the 9 Mile Post Trailhead where I dropped my truck off. 10 days 60 miles. Fished the upper Yellowstone river to fish that have never seen a fly. Made a side trip to the Thorofare Patrol Cabin, the furthest dwelling from a road in the continental U.S.. Saw more grizzlies than you can shake a stick at. They kept their distance and we kept ours. I did this same trip about 25 years ago and we saw zero grizzlies. I'd say the Grizzly bear recovery is a success. Beautiful weather, awesome trip. Look for the full TR that's never coming.

Not to turn this into polyarse or the gun but thread, but did u carry? Seems way remote w lots of big bears to not have some sort of recourse...not caring much for hiking in the wilderness I don't know what protocol is up there.

We "carry" in SE Alaska......in certain places. The bears up here this year seem a little hungrier than usual in some places (Brown bear cubs killing people, black bears eating each other) Which I think is similar to down south with the scarcity of food in some places. I'm not sure what this has to do with McLean, but.......it's TGR.

Good thing they "took" the stands instead of stealing them; misdemeanor charges not felonies. Whew!
Maybe the "Its all a misunderstanding and we are trying to straighten it out" approach has some merit...
Wonder why they never contacted the hunter to straight chuter it out.
