Anyone ever use a ozone generator to remove odor ?
After my friend's dog shit on my white carpet, oh wait that was someone else on here. I bought a used van with quite a bit of dog funk that steam cleaning the carpet, wiping down the interior and a bottle of enzyme seemed to not clear up. I'm thinking about ordering a ozone generator on Amazon for $60 and trying it. Anyone have experience with these ozone contractions for odor removal ? How do you guys eliminate the stench of dead hookers decomposing in your closet ?

I've had a detailer use the ozone machine on a heavily smoked car and it did alright.
Finding an old school can of Folgers coffee (or similar, think big can of ground coffee) and putting that in the car seemed to work about as well.

I think for pet shit and piss the enzyme cleaner is the way to go. Just use liberally and repeat. It may take a while, but will take the smell out of poo and piss areas

Works pretty good for smoke in cars. I also used them in grow ops.

Put it in the passenger footwell, windows closed. 20-30 minutes on the timer. Shut the door on the power cord, weather strip gives enough space to do that easily.
Let it run.
I normally do it in the evening so vehicle can sit overnight.
By morning it's funk free.. actually bizzarly smell free.
Scrunch up some drier sheets in the door pockets for continued pleasant driving environment.
It doesn't draw air, it's all to do with magnets.

Yup, 20-30 minutes with the windows up and the ac off but the blower on full blast with the recirc on so that the ozone gets all up into the vents.
Any good auto detail shop will likely offer interior ozone treatment for a small fee if you don't feel like buying your own unit. Call around and you can probably get it done pretty inexpensively.Brandine: Now Cletus, if I catch you with pig lipstick on your collar one more time you ain't gonna be allowed to sleep in the barn no more!
Cletus: Duly noted.

I looked at a used car today and passed on a good deal because it had a cig funk. I’m pretty sensitive, does this stuff work 100%... or 90%?

I bought my last car from a dealer in Ohio by pics only. Arrived 300 miles away to find it smelled like strippers and cigs. I fuckin' blew up but took it home anyway. Held my breath the entire ride (yes, it's a world record). Blasted that fucker with ozone (2X) and threw a couple of charcoal bags in the back. A month later I couldn't smell a thing. My experience is an n of 1.

Never used ozone. I do know that coffee worked great to remove a gasoline spill in our van. Different beast. I dumped a few cans of it in the back and left it there for a week. Direct contact with the area. You would have to fill your whole car.

Ozone works magic.
It also degrades plastics, but no big deal if used sparingly.
If it’s piss in the carpet and ozone don’t work, pull the seats and carpet, throw out and replace the jute backing, steam clean and enzyme the carpet, reassemble.
The carpet pad holds the musty funk the most.
Have replaced dozens of carpet pads when they get wet and moldy/funky. . .

My friend has one at his business and I question whether it's a good thing or not. Short term use for a car or wherever is probably fine, but long term is questionable I would think.
Just a quick search and this shows up...
