The outsole reminds me of the old (1980s) Nike waffle outsole, which were great on trails. Quite a few running shoes back then made for great trail shoes. Better than a lot of the shit companies are pumping out nowadays.

Salomon XA pro is a great hiking shoe but seemed pretty slow and heavy to me for running, but I'm guessing that describes you perfectly.
