Love avos. There is a guy up the coast where I surf who sells them 6 for $.99. Tho, it is roulette. My typical way of choosing good fruit does not work with his. Not sure why. Sometimes you get 6 killer avos for a buck. Other times only one is passable. But, hell, at $1, I tend to grab some from him when I roll by.

Otherwise I buy at the Farmer’s Market. A $5 basket (usually 5 mid sized Hass) or bag (about 8 mid sized plus) for $7. Way cheaper than the grocery, and typically all great fruit.

Occasionally some of the vendors have Bacon Avos available. Take about creamy.

4Matic, I’d be happy to take some of your fruit off your hands when in peak harvest. I’ll even drive up from Santa Cruz.

I have found that as far as the big chains go Safeway generally has the best prices around these parts. Right now it's 4 for $5 (med size).

That actually says it’s avocado cream cheese flavor, which I guess is marginally less weird than avocado tofu.

I usually buy avocados at the farmers market from a farm in Ventura called Brokaw Ranch. They’re not cheap by California standards but they’re consistently the best avos I can find.

Happy to share. Some bombs hitting the metal roof last night. Raccoons got them I think.

    Ingredients
    8 ounces bay shrimp
    ¼ cup mayonnaise
3 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
    1 teaspoon Champagne vinegar
    2 teaspoons kosher salt
    1 avocado
    1 handful baby arugula
    1 green onion, bias cut
    1 Roma tomato, small diced

    Preparation
In a medium bowl, combine shrimp and mayonnaise then set aside in the fridge to chill.

Whisk together olive oil, vinegar and salt, then toss with baby arugula.

Peel, seed and halve the avocado.

Place dressed arugula onto plate and top with avocado halves. Fill avocados with bay shrimp salad and top with green onions and diced tomatoes.
    Oooh that sounds good
