Foo Fighters just don't sound very different to me than every 'rock' radio band from the 90s.

Bush? Everclear? STP? Candlebox? I can't really differentiate it. Kind of like ISBD said, I am familiar with the songs cause they're around, not because of any attachment. I'll stop shitting on this famous rich funny guy though that was in nirvana though.
big difference between the foo and what mark puts out. He's also a hell of a cook. Can't find video of the Bourdain episode with him , but this is close. wipes a tear for Anthony. he was the shit Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown Seattle Mark Lanegan Strange Religion

DG knows how to "connect" with the crowd, but it's a bit much sometimes. I dig the kids up there but a grown man in tears ? C'mon !

Legend has it that this man is still crying to this day.

I’m a FF semi fan. There are songs I like, and I’ll listen to them while driving sometimes.

But I have to say, they had a concert in NYC a few years back (maybe more than just a few years) that was on TV. I thought, Foo Fighters, yeah, I’ll watch this! Couldn’t watch it more than about 10 minutes. Just a bunch of loud noise. Maybe it was the sound system they were using, but that’s still on them. But I still like some of their studio stuff.

Grohl’s work with other bands is OK, I guess. And he does have a talent for writing songs.

I've heard Sonic Youth sound like a fuzzbox full of noise but they are great players. I've heard Phish on bad acid. sounded awful.

Foo Is just a bit too sicky sweet poppy for the masses of morons. If you can jam out in the car with your mom to it, call it green day or smash mouth.
Disney Land Punk Rock, it's ghey . Blink 182, same shit but they're just chasing the money instead of having integrity.

I like this tune in my head when I'm thinking I'm much better than I am "ripping" a huge bumpline... Maybe your mom will like it too...Good audio system or good headphones always a plus.

    Grohl is the shit

They closed out Letterman's last show w an epic rendition of Everlong set against an even more epic montage of clips of past Letterman bits

    Just received this press release:

    "FOO FIGHTERS
DIRECTV Super Saturday Night in Atlanta With Special Guest Run The Jewels

    SOLD OUT
BOTH BANDS’ SETS TO STREAM LIVE WORLDWIDE AT: https://twitter.com/DIRECTV

    GO JACKALOPES! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8LeYu2uybU

Who didn't see this one coming… It’s official: Foo Fighters’ DIRECTV Super Saturday Night February 2 at Atlantic Station in Atlanta with special guest Run The Jewels is 100% SOLD OUT. Nothing you can do short of impersonating the Fed Ex or pizza delivery person or taking out a second mortgage can get you into this once in a lifetime show now…

There is good news, though: Both performances—Foo Fighters and Run The Jewels—will be streamed live to fans across the world on Twitter https://twitter.com/DIRECTV or on AUDIENCE NETWORK on DIRECTV CH 239 or on DIRECTV NOW.

The live stream begins at 10:30pm ET with FOO FIGHTERS hitting the stage at 11:00pm ET.

Yes, the stadium-shaking anthems that have earned Foo Fighters 12 Grammy Awards, sold 25 million records and continue to sell millions of tickets the world over will come to your living room if you can’t make it to Atlanta. And don’t sleep on this one: The band has been circling the globe crushing it with rock marathons since its latest album, the international #1 Concrete and Gold, was released in September 2017. There are fewer Foo Fighters U.S. gigs left on the itinerary than you can count on two hands so make sure you’re in front of that phone, tablet or TV screen February 2. It may be your last dose of live Foo Fighters for quite some time to come. And Run the Jewels are sure to crush it too. If there was ever a night to make any excuse to stay in and go big...

In the meantime, get psyched for the big show the night before the big game, specifically: Get Jacked on Jackalopes! Go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8LeYu2uybU for a brand new short film written and directed by Foo Fighters’ own Dave Grohl, featuring Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan—and of course some more familiar faces—in a hilarious time warping homage that presents the familiar Foo Fighters comedic chops in a classic 1970s cinematic style and story (and don’t forget the cheerleaders):

Larry Butz (Dave Grohl) sponsored by Butz Bail Bonds
Helmuut Pyle (Pat Smear) sponsored by Pyles Adult diapers
    Jake Schenker (Chris Shiflett)
Bertrand Hitchens (Nate Mendel) sponsored by 1 800 Ferns
    Bret Rogers (Taylor Hawkins)

The Longest Yard and Invincible got nothing on the Jackalopes—you’ll be on the edge of your seat dying to know “WILL THEY MAKE IT TO SUPER SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE BIG GAME?”

Stay connected to the latest DIRECTV Super Saturday Night news by following AT&T, DIRECTV and Foo Fighters on social."

IMHO, Mr. Grohl is a damn fine storyteller.
Just stumbled upon his Covid Quarantine musings and they are highly entertaining, not to mention rather well-written:

You know who else is the shit? Torben Ulrich.

In a strange, Dark kinda way I think he and DG might actually be the same person. Very cool dude, definitely a free spirit; always marched to the beat of his own drum. Apparently still does...

Coincidentally, Metallica played a killer Enter Sandman to close Colbert's (Late Show) post-Super Bowl special Sunday evening.

Seriously, if the Foo Fighters don't get to do Super Bowl LVI, the NFL and everyone else involved can get fucked.
