Upper mtn was in and out of light/clouds all day. Mostly cloudy and snowing. Cold enough that's for sure, some laps you could feel the10 min of sun refrozen from the lap before. But overall many of us were scratching our heads thinking it's too good to be true.

Sun peaked out for a while dow low this afternoon, and you could feel the heat. Fist few hours tomorrow should be good, another 1/2 inch down in the valley since the sun went down. 48° high tomorrow spells mank to me....

Took the pups to the Hump and it was so good I found someone to go back out there(ish) in the evening. Still snowing well into the night tomorrow is at least going to start good.

Upper mountain @ Squaw today was interesting, but hella good interesting.
    Sibo didn't open until 10.
Gold Coast and park laps yielded some low-angle ankle-deep freshies until Sibo started letting people on, though.
Viz was straight Helen Keller with a soundtrack by the Foggy Bottom Boys; basically you just pointed your sticks downhill, made turns and hoped you didn't hit anything or anybody!
Snow was boot deep in spots and soft, silky, and smooth.
Kept traversing over to do Headwall laps near the Tibetan Flags...long, blind approach with hidden sharks, but rewarded with sections of untracked.
Viz was much better over on Granite Chief, but the snow was more tracked out.

Ya, that traverse over to headwall was brutal. Total vertigo White out land. But once you got to the bowl it was pretty damn good.

Love how RLP looks like a ski resort in the distance. You can clearly see the cut groomed runs through the trees.

At 9 am when Squaw Ops posted on Twitter that both Siberia and Granite Chief were closed due to "ice rime and poor visibility" I scrapped skiing today and went to Reno to finally see Avengers: Endgame. Not sure what all the hoopla has been about. The film is okay (for every heartfelt moment there are at least two manufactured and calculated moments).
    But I digress.
Other than Gimpy and Rod did anyone hit up anything else worthy of their time and effort today?
    Anybody ski Squaw today?
Forecast through Memorial Day isn't looking too promising, at least in terms of schussing in/around North Lake Tahoe...

Guessing it wasn't raining during your lunchbreak?
And I'm curious, how did you get away with skinning NS? I've often thought about it, but then it's private land...also, did you just skin up to Pluto or did you hit the Martis/Lookout side?

It was absolutely pissing racing near Baxter on my way down the hill this afternoon. I'm guessing that precip splooged all but the highest elevations

Skied KT this morning. Rain soaked mank to the top. Might be better tomorrow if it snowed this afternoon or cools off tonight... Maybe

Clear & starry tonight with current temps close to freezing at 8K & mid 30s at 6200' should make things pretty crunchy 1st thing tomorrow.

snow line for last night and this morning seemed to be pretty constant at close to 8k. Wouldn't be surprised to see some plentiful corn tomorrow if it stays clear long enough.

The catch is that you have to advance order the tickets online...if you just show up day of, then tix are $39

From one of the press releases:

"Five Dollar Fridays lift tickets must be purchased online or through the Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows app more than 48 hours in advance. Lift tickets purchased on-site on Fridays or online within 48 hours will be priced at $39 (all ages, four and under are free) and will not include a donation to the Tahoe Fund. The $5 lift ticket is not valid for use on the Tram."
