I’m just fine with no thunderstorms this fall. Cali is a fucking tinderbox and I’ll take clear air over tacky dirt all day.

I’d rather it not be dry as shit everywhere. That’s far more dangerous than lightning.

Looks like the first week of October is wet, and it doesn't look like thunderstorms. Doesn't matter to me the climbing is awesome right now and if it rains the biking will be

Used to be you could get a free pass from SV/AM. Back when I was still in you just had to go to the ticket counter with your ID and you were set. So I guess it is now infinitely more expensive!

Good place for beginners to try trees, tho.
Not a bad groomer on WROD days.
So, which lift is gonna be the "slowest/longest in Tahoe" now?
    Hot wheels?

This thread is dying for stoke...

Went to NZ with the family in mid-August. Trip advice: Don't bring a 2 year old to New Zealand. Stoked to get my daughter down there for the first time and fun to see the Kiwi kids and my kids ski together. I'll post full reports on Snowbrains...just trying to get through Back to School at 3 different schools. Yep.

Nice stoke, and nice to hear some Soulwax for the first time in a long while. Brings back memories!

So how does one prepare for a late summer ski trip after presumably not skiing much for months. Daily leg blasters?

Two years ago it was a $25 donation to Wounded Warriors (btw there are better wounded vet organizations than WW). I think it was up to $50 last year but may be it was still $25.

He's already got one of those--he has a 2 month rural surgery elective rotation at SLT this winter. Old Goat doesn't raise idiots.

Call Squaw and ask their ticket office? They had a military program last year.

Does anyone know what GFS stands for?
    Generating False Stoke

    ?

OTOH, bears broke my window and I hit a deer so maybe that's a good sign for winter.

Well Shasta is going to get it's first snow for the 18/19 season this week. 7-14" on the upper elevations...

I would prefer that this thread start with the first snow fall, however it is worth pointing out that this thread always starts too soon and has been followed by epic years and miserable years both. There haven't been any average years in a long time that I can recall; I don't think they exist any more.

Jinxes...are dumb. But not as dumb as the first post in this thread!!!

UBLOW -- if this is to be the Tahoe thread, please fix that goddamn abomination of a first post. Or lepistoir or RaccoonFace, please just save us from this misery. Better thread title too, plz. Something like "18/19 Official UBLOW Tahoe Thread - Welcome to IRUL's TerrorDome" or similar.

I do not understand the level of butthurt in the responses. All I did was post an interesting, and potentially significant, or not, observation of a weather phenomenon. Discuss it or not, or discuss something else, or just go and perform a physically difficult, if not impossible, auto-sexual act.

Agreed - thread title needs some flavor. And I'm still sticking with the way early reverse jinx theory.

Is it auto sexual or mono-sexual?

How about adding "IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY" in the title? lol...
