woke up to rain at my casa this morn (approx 6500) and had rain on/off on my drive down to Reno to catch a coupla movies. When in Reno (approx 11:05 am) you couldn't see Mt. Rose for all the fog.

drive back to Truckee apres 2 films (approx 4 pm) was non-stop rain from Reno to about Floriston, then it turned to sticky slop. It was thick and wet at Savemart over by Mickey D's and it was the same up Northwoods Blvd. My driveway had about 2+ inches of thick, gloppy on it when I finally got home around 5:30.

Currently snowing at the crib, but it's in-between sleet and snow at the moment. Coming down fast and steady, though.

And they had chain control on 80 headed West out of Truckee.

I ain't no weather guru, but I'mma say this storm is definitey gonna be delivering different types of snow at different elevations and aspects (to wit, higher elevations are gonna score, lower ones are gonna snore).

    Really confused.
If today was great and tomorrow is going to be better, then what the fuck are you protesting?
And more importantly, where will you be protesting? That way I can avoid the drama and actually get some skiing in...

Protests at the Wood. I started with 4FRNT Ravens today, and they did well to begin. But by the end of the day, it was apparent that Protests will make an appearance tomorrow for the opening of backside (winds expected to come down tomorrow).

Guessing he might have been nudged off the road based on the article linked above “CHP went into a pursuit with the Durango as it failed to yield to them” but who knows, he certainly looked like a pillar of society

My son was born in early June that year. Somehow my wife let me go to Squaw to catch that powder day in late May when it snowed like 2 feet.

So if the snow is wet and heavy you’re going to be disappointed? I thought that was your thing? ;-)

Snow at KW was not blower pow yesterday which is good with these smaller amounts. The rebound yesterday was pretty damn nice, and rarely bottomed out down to the old surface. Quality was improving as the day went on with deeper turns and lighter pow. Higher base = better snow, so I guess today depends on where you go.

They moved the Patagonia outlet almost 2 years ago!

Too bad you didn't wait to go down on Friday. Then you could have at least had a beer at the Brewer's Cabinet warehouse facility located across the street from the old Patagonia outlet.

I’m posting this rad magic carpet photo so I don’t have to keep seeing that wide eyed psycho mug shot on the mobile feed. That is all. So how’s the snow?

    Wondering same.
Based on fact that Mt.Davidson (Virgina City) is nicely covered in white (looking from CC), it should be pretty good.
Gonna go hunt for end-of-day leftovers at Rose this arvo.

FWIW, I just got an email from Boreal.
They are claiming 13-inches and counting from this last/present storm.
They also reminded me that they have $25 lift tickets every Friday. That's not a bad deal.
I've had some fun pow days there as most of the visitors are either in the park or on the bunny slope...

Boreal’s site only shows $25 tickets on Friday, April 19th, not other Fridays.

    Opps.
    Right you are.
Bad writing in their press release if you ask me. They announce "Feel Good Fridays" (plural), but then when you read the fine print it's really just "Feel Good Friday" (singular) on, as you mentioned, April 19th.
They need a new PR person!

Or at least a better editor.
(and I, apparently, need to bone up on my reading comprehension skills!).

^^ Had the same thoughts based on the few times I've met him around town in recent years. But don't tell anyone in the FWT thread.

Snow looks good. Hoping it stays that way for tomorrow.
