Holy POW, Peavine Mtn. certainly got that Pyramid Lake effect. Best I've ever had up there! Full report to come...

Hah! Its hardly steep enough to kick up much, but I tried. Theres so much snow that Peavine is no longer just a novelty! Saw several groups on sno-mos, and a ton of tracks. Plenty of space for it all right now though -many many lines to be skied up there.

Shot I found on my camera from a couple of weeks ago at Squaw. Fine example of proper rope etiquette.

    Found this too.

Could not have picked a better day to tour friends around Heavenly. Wind and an inch over night provided a great surface. First tram up gave us empty corrals until 10:45 or so. Got into Killabrew during the 30 minutes it was open and found good cold fluff in the tress. Got them all over the mountains except for Galaxy, and their biggest day of the season.

The usual lifts had huge lines mid day. Glad to see my two decade old game plan still works.

Of course, I’m a little sad I did not tour today. It was obvious how awesome it was out there. Still had a great 5 1/2 days on snow. Can’t believe how good it is in Tahoe right now. Get on it if you can before this next storm.

Does anyone know why Mott closed today? I dropped my friends off at East Peak for lunch and was planning on doing a couple laps in there. Got back to Gate A and the entire zone was closed. Only bummer of the day as there were a few lines in there I wanted to hit solo.

Mechanical issue with the chair. Re-opened about 40 minutes later after lift mechanics replaced the part.

God the skiing is fucking good right now. I did a couple laps on a pretty boring objective and feel a little guilty for not doing something more exotic, but whatever, it was stupid good. On the way up I encountered a little bit of crust here and there on eastern aspects probably around 7500’. Seems more likely wind than sun? But everything I skied N and NE facing was money.

Was solo again so no visual stoke to share, sorry I can’t contribute!

Found a Black Diamond glove liner on Angora Peak on Tuesday, Feb 19. Let me know if it's yours, and you want it back.

Had the same conditions at The Star this past Wed. Was attempting to introduce "deep" pow skiing techniques to a rag-tag crew of groms and everything we hit in the AM was thick and crusty. I even switched out skis --went from 186cm Peacemakers to 165cm SRC--because of the conditions.
Then in the PM everything we skied (more west facing and above 7500) was super light and fluffy. Most interesting day in that regards.

I know it's sacrilegious to speak of such things on this thread, but damn if the corduroy isn't skiing immaculate right now.

I see the twitter notification today that all Heavenly parking (cal, stage, bolder, ski run and offsite) was full at 9:15. Kinda ridiculous, especially considering that the lots had to be filled a while before they got those tweets out.

They really need to do something about their parking at that mountain now that you can't use the casinos.

And since they could not come to agreement with the local bus company this year over price, it's even worse with a huge reduction in bus service and they have not been able to fill the gap with there own buses, in fact they cant even run shuttles to stagecoach as is competes with the existing bus line. Can always pay up at Harrah's for parking if it comes down to that. Can't see it improving anytime soon or ever....

Amazing snow. Man, can’t believe how well it’s holding up. Gotta love the cold temps. I skied all Silverado @ Squaw and was still able to find some fresh lines.

Lower Broken Arrow (on my way down mountain) has some crusty action so I would avoid. Stay high.

Also I just came back from Squaw at 11:15am and traffic on 89 backed up 3+ miles as the parking lot is full. Insane.

Harrahs got tired of subsidizing vail operations. Their customers could not find parking on busy days. It was nice they provided that for 15 years but people were being egregious about it.

It was never ok except for behind Harvey’s (not sure if that changed) it just wasn’t enforced. Now Harrahs has attendants.

I usually come here to bitch, but will have some stoke to post soon. So many days of good skiing. So cold. So, only a few photos were taken. When I was atop Melissa Corey, I caught the view of Corey Lochan and Deadwood. Holy shit are those faces filled in. Really hope to get out to AK Face from KW this year. Petitioning my sled snowboard buddy to make a run out to Deadwood. Never have I seen it this filled in. Looked like you could ski the face or the cirque from the top.

Anyway, things are stacked out there.
