Coverage is awesome everywhere. Like everywhere else it depends on the cycle but north facing should have a good sliding layer through the weekend. others too but they'll be more iffy and dangerous in the afternoon

Trying to decide if we go south towards EB, RT, etc. or if we go north to RLP and ski to the road. She’s a solid rider. Sorta new to touring.

Forgive my naivete , but when you say "good sliding layer" do you mean a decent snow surface (i.e. corn) for skiing/riding or do you mean sliding as in avalanche?

Rlp is melting fast mikey but still worthy of a day. I’d recommend s side rt if u got the juice to get back up. If looking for easier day, the graveyard is going off. The n side of rt looks like shit from windfuk.
Anyone know where snowline is out high meadows rd?

Great day out there today, still tons of snow at lower elevations. North facing skied great at 12:30 today. Stoked for some lift serviced turns tomorrow at Alpine.

Solid refreezes the last two nights. Yesterday was able to ski to the car in Hope Valley from RLP. Solar aspects $$ before noon, didn't try any north-facing yet. Click image for larger version.

Looks like we are headed out of BV tomorrow rather than drive to Carson Pass.

Temperatures looking somewhat mild overnight for North Lake. I know it's more complicated than just air temp but is there a minimum air temp that yields a good refreeze. Forecast temps at 8500 ft are about 35-37 F. Is that low enough?

Thanks for the reminder. What a stellar weekend.

I'm pretty sure this guy left behind a few Tahoe skier friends and admirers when he took his final rest yesterday.

Top pic is 12 year-old Booker atop Mt. Adams less than a year ago. Bottom one is his last day on snow earlier this week.

Bummer B, pets are family it it’s hard to lose em, looks like Booker had a great life.

Back in February Spats lost a ski doing the Minden mile. With some lift assisted backcountry we went on a mission to find it today, and basically found it right away guided by a gps track we had
