I’ve got a lot of experience with aqua seal and super glue and can assist in that operation. Also handy with a cleaver.

They're worn out and current insurance doesn't cover replacements. The ones from Olympic Bootworks are easier on my pocketbook and worth a shot.

Yeah, skied a narrow chute on the North side of fireplug. Untracked, heavy snow, skied well though.

Plus the ones from the podiatrist make it hard to sideslip the whole way down a chute. ;--)

Skied KW like it was side country. Dropped the kiddo at ski school at 10:30 and skied untracked until I picked him up at 3:45.

Snow was fun. Fairly decent about 8800’, heavier below that. Improved as the day went on with dropping temps. Plenty of snow. Like I said, like side country. No remnants of skier tracks until about 8500’.

For a wet spring storm, it sure was fun at KW today. No one around.

Worked coin-op @ squaw today. Didn't ski much but what I did was fun.

Heavy Sierra cement, rain line was about at the bottom of headwall. Probably 6 to 8 inches at gold coast in the am, and another maybe 6"+ during the day. Soft slush underneath. Upper mountain lifts (-gold coast) went on hold for lightning through the day. Tomorrow if the light gets better skiing will be good, but unless temps drop tonight it will be dense pow. Also sounds like the possibility of lightning tomorrow as well.

Holy thick snow out at Squaw Batman

But what makes that mountain so amazing is the ability to find fun new spots regardless of snow. Something is always good. Steeps were sluffy mush, but the kind of snow you could absolutely hop and shut down speed through if needed. Fun

Anyone know the all time record base at squaw?

Just checking the snow report, and yeah 670 inches is a lot!
But 240 inches of base? That is mental. 20 feet?

Will I find any chutes or is it all one buffed out bowl this year?

    https://ski-resort-stats.com/Squaw-valley/
Last year was huge by the chart in the stats link, but peaked around (only) 480cm (189 inches), and now they are at 559cm!

Burried. Haven't you been keeping up. F'n North*Star is leading the pack.
Good 2 - 4 feet of base at the lake. Although the Solar*Star aka Death* is starting to win and the Rain is helping down low.
    Sh*t be BURRIED do

I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

Hot pow at KW above the base. Lapped 4 for a while with my son. Even the solar aspects were fun for the first 800’. As long as you were skiing fresh, which was basically hard to do for our first three laps. Shaded aspects skied a lot better even of a little tracked. Face of 10 was buffed goodness.

Core Shot. Snow pack is deep. There tends to always be something to ski. Only the big lines are in play at KW. Was skiing a face with my son today that is typically a series of cliff bands. Now it is just steep.

Gonna hot lap some groomers in the morning of it is not snowing. The spilt. Time to get back to real life.

BTW, West Shore and basically all of Emigrant Basin is plastered. Some worthy missions out there if anyone has a window and pass after these storms cease.

Anybody competing at the FWQ 4* at Kirkwood today? https://www.freerideworldtour.com/ev...ood-ifsa-fwq-4 Found some venue info: https://www.tahoefreeride.org/fwq-ki...mpionship.html

....which pretty much mandates posting the monster Garbiel comp video from the Cirque - enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSo4yV7CmqA

And wasn't there a 3* at Squaw recently?? Weird there's no press about this stuff.

It was at Alpine Meadows about a week ago. Podium was all locals (Ryan Faye, Tyler C from Moment, and I forget who else).

Looks like Tyler won at KW yesterday too - good for him.

the cirque is currently stupid fat! weather pending should be an excellent weekend for that comp

i would of course never encourage skiing in permanently closed areas - and you will totally die if you try to ski there - but there may have been someone's two of the best runs of the year in there last saturday. bluebird w like a foot of fresh that had blown in there untracked
