Here is the closest and easiest part of erratica. This turnoff is on the left just after you make the left turn past Oyster Creek Campground (heading towards the wood). The Vb wall will have the easier stuff and the Boob wall is obviously more fun.

This is Birthday boulder, above Kirkwood Lake. The Devils gate road on the map is the one on the right as you approach Kirkwood about a 1/4 mile from the entrance.

Thanks. Headed toward KW. Lake and to look for Birthday after lunch.

Ended up hiking to Granite Lake in the morning. Some stuff along the way to climb. Decent short hike with mild elevation gain and great views of the Thunder Mountain south face cirque.

We think we found boob and Vb walls. Played around in that entire area for a while Monday. Climb a few things that might not have names and some mid routes up vb. He really enjoyed it.

I think I found Birthday boulder. I scrambled around that area just before dinner Sunday. Is the cave on its backside really just where the boulder over hangs the rock below?

Walked up from the cabin. There is a forest service cabin asking $170k on Devils Gate. Only a half mile from the entrance of KW.

    Loving the summer stoke thread.

I’ve seen him on the road. I think his car just blasts a straight line through bumps.

No, no flow below there. We were hiking down.

Actually, looks like my buddy (TheImmaculateDeception) isn't fit enough to make it up for movie, so we might just wait for Reno showing.

Did anybody go see the "Keep Squaw True" movie this past Friday?

In regards to other cinematic ski stoke:

Level 1 Productions' ZIG ZAG screening Friday, Sept. 28th @ Moment Ski Factory in Reno.

Dookey- I made it to the "Keep Squaw True" premier. The Gaffneys outdid themselves, good stuff all 'round- very political, but good, really political and really (well- I think you get the picture, so to speak)...

    Don't go see it if:
You think it's a ski movie, or if you work for KSL or Alterra, or you happen to be on the Placer Co. Board of Supervisors, or if you support the gondola "interconnect", or if you don't know who Debbie Dutton is.
If you hung out with Andy Wirth in any social or business way- I think I'd skip it also.
Other than that, it's all open to discussion.

Don't be silly. We stay away from such controversial topics.

So is this early thread so much of a jinx that it won't even rain for fall Tahoe mountain biking, which is usually the best thing ever outside of a powder day? Usually by now it's afternoon thunderstorms at the very least.

Skied new snow on this day a year ago with somethingclever and the season did not really get going full on till March.

See there is a possibility for moisture 10 days out now, be nice to reset the dirt at least.

    This day last year

My kid, who's in the Air Force, heard a rumor that SVAM might offer a nearly free military pass for SVAM only, as it has in the past--ie no skiing at other IKON resorts. Does anyone have any definitive information on this? (There is a military IKON pass which is roughly 10 times the cost of the old military passes.)

The Ikon military pass is $579. There was a $58 military pass?

Epic active duty is only $129. Maybe that would work for him instead of Ikon?
