Thanks for the reminder. We got hit again last summer and I've been procrastinating on buying some electric wire

In my next life I would like to come back as Gimpy.
I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

Some really nice turns down the Heart. There were even some proper ski extrême turns, where your edges skkkrrrrt a bit on the ice lurking below the powder, just like can happen on le Tour Ronde! And then some crux spice, with an icy funnel choke and mandatory hop to straightline out onto an exposed hanging face above teh gnar. A snowboarder utilized a workaround, might have been more or less sketchy. Snow is variable as a whole out there at mid elevations, but watch the texture and aspect and great turns can be had. The wind event did some damage for sure, lots of raised tracks were observed.
Best part was getting beta on the face from Tanner Hall in the parking lot. Said amongst a huge grin, massive joint hanging out the corner of his mouth (but not ignited yet), and beats bumping in the background: "It's the best fucking snow in the world, man, but also some of the worst fucking snow in the world. But mostly it's fucking awesome, you'll have fun!"
Probably the most spot-on and succinct ski beta I can recall being given, big ups Tanner!
We were also offered beers at the top (thanks dudes!) but got distracted picking our off-the-summit line. Fun to take some friends down it for their first time, an afternoon delight. #HolyShitTheSummitIsBURIED

Went for a walk up hidden today. Man was that nice.
Cirque looking real nice.
Not a lick of wind on the summit.
The way down offered a little bit of everything. Windslab, crust, slush, and even a couple turns in California cold smoke! Love this place!

OFFICIAL TAHOE 18/19 STOKE, CONDITIONS, WEATHER THREAD

Lots of great stuff here. Thanks to all for posting.
This is from friday. Great powder everywhere, road still skiable to 89 (probably still goes this weekend?)
Obligatory Tahoe pic:
Angora/Halls lookin' good:
Top of cross had awesome powder. Sherpa1, MadTurtle:
pano of the upper Cross (needs to be tilted left):
Baby Cham:
Mad Turtle:
Sherpa1 at the top:
Good view of Baby Cham(onix) on the left, "Big Bird" (right) looks like it might be doable to those with bigger balls than mr. hankey, and with a bit of a chokestone to overcome :
MadTurtle, Sherpa1 exiting:
Baby Cham dumps you at the right arm of the cross. Instead of skiing down, we booted up to the top of the "lookers left hanging faces". from here there's 3 options:
1) central gully from the top. Someone had skiied it. Our friends did this as well, but they skiied in from the normal hanging face (lookers right) and went in above the chokestone. Here's what it looks like from the very top:
2)we skiied the looker's left hanging face from the center(tracks):
2)looking down it from the top. This was fantastic powder:
3)There's also a more lookers left entrance:
Disclaimer - like the normal hanging face, you really need to study pics before doing this so you don't go over the cliff at the bottom. And same with avy risk of taking you over the cliff.
looking back at the summit, Babycham, etc from the top of the ridge. you can see all of the tracks from the normal cross exit at the bottom left:
Shirpa1 on the face:
lower portion and the exit chute. you can do a left turn and take a steep chute into the same central chute as the normal hanging face if you want, but we finished on the left most (direct) exit:
This post was made possible by (and probably why the post ended up so long by) this beer:
I used to really love posting. but haven't been motivated recently. but it was just a really awesome day (and year).

The spring skiing right now is pretty damn good. That is all. Slushy but not sticky... gotta love March.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Great shots mr hanky!
Well my season is just starting to boot back up after knee cleanup surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. Last two days been lapping up perfect corn with like a 3 hour window below 7300 feet. Today I thought I would try a more aggressive south facing chute starting at about 8500 to test the knee for a line I’ve been eyeing all week that I was targeting for Monday. When I dropped at 11 it was already to soft transitional snow, any later and it would have been rollerball pinwheel hell. Had some minor rollerballs that I was able to stay ahead of and did not totally fuck up the slope but seriously reconsidering plans for tomorrow as I think we need a couple more cycles which I don’t think we are gonna get before the next system moves in. Below 7400 was still 💰 🌽
Still some cold snow in protected north btw.

Thanks for the awesome stoke and beta. That zone is just so right-sized and aesthetic it's always been the top of my legit things to tour about. I haven't been BC except to slide around low angle stuff walking the dog and now, now I am inspired to actually put in an effort.

Great, Tallac tour pics! Cham looks very filled in and Big Bird looks as doable as I have ever seen. Did anyone do to E-Bay Chutes today? Is it corning up yet?

Nice stuff in here! Got out again today. Some nice spring snow on Maggie's north until it got too hot. Bailed to squaw and had a couple fun laps.
Some chutes looking nice...
