Just saw Mt.Rose is NOT opening this weekend.
So much for them celebrating Nevada Day weekend.
A bit of jumping the gun there.

Anyone going to Ode to Muir today or tomorrow? I’m going to the 6pm showing tomorrow, and was thinking about seeing “Helmets are Cool” before that.

Stopped by the moment factory and remodeled store today. Looks great.
Moment is now doing boot work, selling boots and soft goods out of the store, and had some supplies like wax, etc.
Also there is a wildcat tour 108 with a tahoe backcountry alliance topsheet that is the sexiest in the store.
Also also the new commander series is LIGHT despite the metal. Everything in that place is crazy light for how damp it is. Was hoping to see the blister topsheet in person, no dice. Did get to fondle some solly shift's though. Did not purchase

Not skiing related, but...
FREE SOLO is screening at the Riverside Cinemark in downtown Reno.
$5 before 6pm; $9 after 6pm.
I am not a climber, but I found the film to be insanely captivating and quite intense. Highly recommended.

Isn't 108 a bit narrow for your taste anyhow?

From BA:
Everybuddy keep your powder dry.
For now, we have no storms to speak of over the next 2 weeks. Just a continuation of a few signals the pattern could change as we go through the 2nd week of November. But we aren't seeing it show up consistently on the models yet, so we are really just grasping at straws until then. The good news is that colder air this week should allow for some snowmaking on the mountains.Even sometimes when I'm snowboarding I'm like "Hey I'm snowboarding! Because I suck dick, I'm snowboarding!" --Dan Savage

I don’t believe in jinxes, but at this point I think it’s safe to blame this thread for starting too early. ;-)
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

I blame the mods for allowing this thread to start too early every year. They should be paying attention to this instead of banning people just for being assholes. Obviously the mods hate California (probably Trump supporters) and don't want us to have snow. And what about irul who started this thread? He claims to be from "Suckramento" but I've never met him. He's probably from Montana or something.

Not Tahoe
Mammoth opens Nov. 9.
I'll take man made snow any day just to get the kinks worked out.

OFFICIAL TAHOE 18/19 STOKE, CONDITIONS, WEATHER THREAD
At least when Mammy opens their WROD it will be off chair 1, have some pitch and won’t melt out.
Not sure why any Tahoe resort bothers with fighting ma Nature.
Sure, I hope for snow. But right now this clear weather is making for excellent surfing and garden conditions. Been getting shacked and picking beans for over a month now.
Winter will come when it damn well pleases. Hope it snows by thanksgiving, as we will be up there. Will be bummed if all I get is a shitty KW WROD of waste a shit ton of money and co tribute to global warming just so I can wiggle a few turns bullshit.
No idea why people bother crowding into a single run. At least wait u til they have multiple lifts/chairs open.
I once skied N* early in a drought season. They had a trail too to bottom on every section of mountain and most of the lifts open. At least it spread people out and allowed one to roam.
I’m with liv2ski and will wait for snow season to ski. Right now it is surf/bike/golf/climb/hike season. Go get after it.
Are y’all the same guys that stop skiing in March cause you need to get your boat out in the lake?

Agreed on not bothering with WROD season. I’d rather mountain bike.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

Well yeah ....... no snow is no problem when you've got suitable local alternatives i.e. surf/MB
My top time consumer for the last 3 months has been making sure the local street peeps don't start squatting in my next door neighbor's un-occupied house.
