If you are a Reno/Tahoe local or a weekend warrior who plans to be in the area/skiing on March 15/16, 2019, here's some solid apres entertainment (if you like rap music, that is):

Massive scam probably done by the same people who just did that same thing in the surfing industry a few weeks back.

^been seeing ads like that all over Facebook. Most recent was the Diamondback Release 4c for $92. They would do a lot better if they made the sites look more real and raised the price a bit closer to reality.

OFFICIAL TAHOE 18/19 STOKE, CONDITIONS, WEATHER THREAD

It may only be snow above 7500 or so based on temps... but that’s better than nothing for high camp at Squaw, up top at Heavenly, Rose, etc.

Hoping temps drop as we move closer, as per usual in recent years.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

From your lips to God's ears. Satan is listening too though and easily-dashed hopes are his favorite drug. Indeed, storm is not there on 12z GFS. Will see what happens...

Rose report: I would confirm that was a pretty wet mix they were firing earlier this week.. That meant east coast conditions to start off the day today. BY mid-day there was a pretty stiff wind to keep the snow cool. Crowds were pretty big for a Friday on The Wiz...tomorrow could be interesting. Oh...two park features today. A short rail and a shorter box. FKNA!

Enjoyed a shit show at Rose saturday and today. Crowd was predominantly teenagers and early twenties - fun time. Love hearing older pass holders who just want to zoom groomers getting pissed at newschoolers.

Also stopped by bobo's in Reno today to buy wax and ended up with a pair of moment meridian's in 187 for $200 with solly bindings. FYI there's a pair of praxis pows, looked like the same ones on CL last week, at bobo's for $175. Pleasantly surprised by getting a deal there, not one of my go-to's

Hit up THE BREWING LAIR (http://www.thebrewinglair.com/) yesterday.
If nothing else the weather right now is prime for IPA sipping and disc golfing...

I like the big decks under the trees. Nice spot to hang out, especially after riding trails out that way. Their Red IPA is good too.

    *Checks forecast* - sigh.

Any rumors of Squaw still actually opening on Nov 16th as originally planned? Not something I'd go out of my way for but I'll be up there anyway.

I don't know why they wouldn't. Should be good snowmaking for the next week.

I figured, just hadn't heard / seen anything yet. I guess I'll have to hit the WROD for the hell of it, maybe drink a few beers and take out a few small children while straight-lining Gold Coast. ;-)

    Irony, or somethin'?
There's a Lebowski Fest at the Bowling Lanes in Gardnerville this Saturday.
    White Russians, bowling, cosplay...
But remember reading G'ville voted against opening a Pot Shop there.
    Silly peeps.

So they can vote on whether or not to have a pot shop. That's kinda like Measure T in South Lake, letting locals decide if they want a certain kind of business (vacation rentals) in their area. I would love to see that pass and see if it would help for North Lake.

Seems like we re-hash this every year, so I'm genuinely curious... do you still not understand what would actually happen by banning STR's in Truckee / North Lake? A lot of local businesses would probably close... and a bunch of houses would just sit completely empty for an even larger percentage of the year. The only reason that's on the ballot in SLT is because of local casino / hotel interests. I could see it happening in a neighborhood like Glenshire, however.
