You should come out if you can swing the trip.

Look for flights to SeaTac. Sometimes there are cheapies on Alaska Airlines. I could pick you up from the airport if you fly in Wednesday or super early Thursday morning, as I'll be going past it anyway.

    Mogul bashers, ha.

Man I hate moguls unless they're made of slush. I wouldn't fixate on moguls as a training goal, fwiw.

You can get a nice second ski day after the lights come on. Norse, GfromT and occasionally Piper added some great pow runs under the lights last year. It's not crowded, and when it dumps it gets hard to stop and go home

Bring something else in case you decide to sell those. There will be plenty of goat lovers skiing there this year too

It was the 2011/2012 season*. Other than the season not really kicking off until mid January it was solidly mediocre.

*3/13/12 and 3/13/18 are both Mondays, though looks like the snowskate event took place on the 26th that year. March that season was also blanketed in snow, so minor differences.

Completely unrelated and certainly doesnt belong in this thread, where does onthesnow get their snow data from? I was looking at the snowfall data for the 2017/2018 season for top stats - https://www.onthesnow.com/news/a/632...-for-2017-2018 - and it got me looking into individual resort data, particularly in the PNW obviously. Apparently Stevens pass got under 300 inches, and every other western WA resort had below average snowfall by a decent amount, which we know is not true. Could this be due to the topography and microclimates that cause the government sites to be accurate, but not at the correct locations. The snow depth seems like they were taken from the resort measurements, so they reflect the data that I saw throughout the season.

You might want to tweak your regimen

I've assembled about 50-60 of my favorite snaps from my short tenure at Alpental, and will try to post one per day till I run out or forget. Slow stoke trickle.
