So would I be correct in saying...
    A2+ = Orange
    A2+ LTE = Burnt Orange
    A3 LTE = Burnt Orange

And do you have a pic of the two irl side by side?

^ they are both of what is now termed LTE light touring version. We did not have that designation in the past.

    From Jacket Comparison link:
"LTE light weight jackets usually average between 20%-30% less overall weight than our regular series jackets. In some cases LTE jackets will have stretch to the fabric which will be noted in individual jacket product descriptions. LTE designations may appear on any jacket base series (ex. Antero 2+, 3, etc) "

Got it. (from the post, it seemed like you were saying that last year's "regular" and this year's LTE were the same weight)

    Thanks for the pic/info.

    Hey Micol-

What do you think about the LTE jackets as a lightweight rain jacket? Is it really that light, say approaching a marmot precip (just as a common example)?

Any experimentation with eliminating the shoulder seams?

it's light, im using one as a rain jacket in 80's where i am, i will try to get a weight in grams up shortly in this thread
i'm not familiar with the precip, but will check it out...

update: looks like a 2.5 Layer with clear seam tape on Marmot® NanoPro™ Waterproof/Breathable Fabric which means that this whole jacket costs them less than $25 to manufacture with materials....has a
$100 msrp....we can only get there with a non seam taped jacket. taping domestically costs a lot...the ragland sleeve you mention could
eliminate the most critical moisture entry point which is a top un seam taped shoulder, i dont know , we are pretty focused on using premium
branded fabric which on its own is 3X the cost of their entire jacket manufacturing cost....

we did make a ski patrol jacket sample we were testing that has no top shoulder seams. not sure if or when it could make it to production. patrol jacket market controlled by the big boy brands and usually deals are made with marketing and resort management, we decided not to pursue. I cant remember my thoughts on it, i will have to track it down and look at it again.

I shouldn’t have used the precip as an example, I know they’re in a completely different class. I was purely interested in a comparison on weight/packability.

Glad to hear the raglan sleeve has been considered. Do they add significant cost or complexity to manufacture (due larger fabric panels or something)?

sorry did not get a chance to weigh A3. will try to get it done tomorrow.

the sewing was not , but the taping might be, we didnt seam tape it because we were in a hurry to get it out and in the field

An unintended but noticeable visual difference was that the ragland made the chest look bigger than a jacket with traditional top shoulder seam and arm hole seams, i think the arm seams frame the torso whereas ragland is just kind of without borders

    something like this lol

Hey M, I don't mean to be a pain, but I'm going a different way on color and model (but thread bump + more data points )

You posted these pics in the 7th thread in 2016. Is this Antero 3 red or bright red? And how close is it to the current version?

all i have handy is a sample ski patrol jacket we were working on at one time with gray sleeves that has the bright red I could shoot outdoors.

The bright red on it is same as current A2+ or A3 if that works for you...let me know
