LED headlights for 13' Silverado...

What isn't junk?
I hate the color of the obviously cheaper LED bulb kits, looking for something that is a cooler white (not white/blue) that will be significantly brighter than stock.
Anyone have experience with this?
Not looking to blind people, justst looking to see better.
Stock is quite dim compared to newer headlights.

Just get the Philips ones from rockauto.com for $101 you can't go far wrong they're well-reviewed and reasonable

halogen silverstars or whatever there called now. leds behave much more like a flood light and less like a spot light.

I tried fancier halogens, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

I said rockauto mainly because I just bought some wiper blades for my wife's car and they were almost exactly half the price on rockauto than they were on amazon. ymmv.

It's just rockauto.com, then select the vehicle brand on the left then follow that through and the headlights are under "electrical - bulb and socket". It's all vehicle-specific.

If you've got fog lights already, might be worth trying to upgrade those?

Better fog and/or flood helps with tight mountain corners.

And obviously headlights or even spots for more speed.

That's an idea.
But I have always filed 'people who drive with fog lights on when it's not foggy' under the 'things that annoy you' area.

Was suprised how much they help in the hills, when i finally got a car that had them.

I was looking into upgrading the lights on my '95 Subie. The issue I kept having while researching was the housing/reflectors were specific for HID, LED or halogen. Just putting in bulbs can make it worse with the wrong defector.

Are your stock headlights halogen reflector or projector?

If you are looking at the headlamp (not looking at the beam, just looking at the physical lamp), a projector headlight looks like a small round dome--in the following link, look at the lamp closest to the orange signal marker:

If you have stock projector lights, Google HID conversion kits. IMHO they work great in projector housings. I'd recommend a 3000-4000k color bulb - more like daylight. 5000-6000 gets blue tint in color. Above that gets even weirder: 10000 ones are purplish.

If you have reflector lights don't put a HID conversion in. You'll have bright light, but tons of unfocused glare.

I have never that I know of seen this companies LED lights, but my Brother got a car that had their HID lights on. One burned out and he purchased another similar HID blue set. The company when I checked was really pushing their LED's when I had a light go out. I ended up with the brighter traditional Phillips Xtreme Vision headlights because the LED's were pretty pricey when everything was added to convert.

The aftermarket headlights tend to be pretty cheap and have shitty light patterns. I don't have any recommendations for aftermarket replacements -

If there are factory projector options available for your truck, that's the way to go IMHO. Can be expensive though.

Check out morimotos from the retrofit store. I have a combo of HIDs and LEDs from them in my 13 legacy.
