Are we not going to talk about those crazy veneer protests that are on sale on the website for $595?
I can't be the only one who's seen that? https://www.praxisskis.com/skis/protest-veneer-top/

Oh! I didn’t even realize the construction was different. I just screenshot the stock photo. I’m not a proud owner…. Yet. Shit, I just bought a pair of skis today…

This topsheet is FN gorgeous! Might be an all time fav for me, reeeaaaally diggin the birds of prey graphic by Beck as well (I think? The birds fighting graphic on the FRS).
Refreshin this thread to see if anyone has had time on the new Jedi. I’m super curious about this ski, it’s short turning radius has me a tad leery but if the sidecut is the multi radius Keith put on the Q’s I’d be game for sure. Still super keen to get on a pair of FRS, and there’s a pair for a great deal on gear swap, but would like to see some Jedi reviews before I jump in on another 120ish ski, pretty bloated spot for me…Fear, Doubt, Disbelief, you have to let it all go. You guys who leave your new babies in plastic have a lot more self restraint than I do ;-)
The Q's inside/outside radii are identical. It's just extended on the inside edge.

What you want to know about the Jedis? It says mind altering freeride in the description. Not much else you need to know. Haha. I’ve probably gonna 15 days on mine. Really like them. What kinda questions you have on them? I can try and answer for you. They are certainly a big ski that likes to go fast.

Think my main questions are around the that shorter turning radius and taper points. Does it ski like a shorter/turnier ski or does it feel like you still have a fairly long rail contact and long turn stability? I’m also curious if Keith used the multi radius sidecut that he used on the Q? I love the feel of that sidecut, really feels stoopid comfortable with just about any size turn. Other than that I guess I’d like to know how quick it pivots, I really dig low camber skis cause I like to pivot quickly and romp on the gas. Thanks for taking the time!!

Ha. You taught me something. I’m not super smart when it comes to tech talk but I never realized these things had that short turn radius. That actually makes a lot sense. They make short turns way better that I expected. I just figured they had a huge turn radius.
I have the FRS too. Both these skis are freeride world tour skis and they ski like it. They love going fast. I honestly couldn’t pick one or the other. Get both!! FRS more slarvy and it freaking trucks. Jedi more carvy and maybe even faster.
They both are aggressive skis and if you like charging and have a good mtn to do it on you can’t go wrong. They don’t excel in tight bumps or tight trees.
The Jedi do make surprisingly good tight turns. It is a lot of ski but if you have your weight in the right place that tip gets out of your way and it skis really nice.
I never skied the Qs so don’t know what you mean with the sidecut. But they make pretty good tight turns for a big ski and absolutely rail the huge turns. I think you would be stoked.
I always feel a bit sad I left either one of the skis at home so both are super fun.
How quick do they pivot. They are a big ski. But I think when you get your balance right the you can pivot quickly. They encourage me to keep it straight down the fall line and fast at all times. I think Jed designed them for big mtn skiing and you can tell. But more versatile then you would think. And the tips are cool in that if your weight is in the right place they won’t hang up despite their being a lot of ski out there.
If you like taking it to 11 I think you would be stoked on either one.
Happy to try and answer more questions.

That helps a ton, thanks!! Have a real good idea what the FRS would feel like, so I obviously want a pair. I just don’t have a good read on the Jedi, so I’m really hung up on em. Super keen to give ‘em a go!

Got my standard 184 RXs in early November.
I haven't decided where to mount them yet. I will probably just get them on the line. They are going to be my go to Mammoth ski. Unless it is very firm I will most likely grab them. I do have a pair of MVPs, so those might cut into the days I would use the RX, but I need the RX to be versatile.
The RX will essentially be replacing a 4frnt EHP 186, which has been my go to Mammoth ski forever. I like the fact that they float, but can hold an edge in a firm chute if the top of the chute has slid.
Do any of you have a 184 RX mounted on the line? Or maybe at -1? I'm just curious about opinions on those points. I'm pretty sure I will just go with the recommended line, but if anyone has some experience it would be great to hear it.
Hear are some photos. The RX is in the middle, the EHP on the right and an Armada JJ in a 185 on the left.
The measurements on the 4frnt are:
129-116-123
The RX measurements:
141-116-128
I'm actually not positive about the JJ measurements. They are a 185 and they are 115 underfoot.
