Forgive me if this is old news, but it looks like the custom sale is going on for another few weeks.

Got a package delivered this weekend. Veneer turned out looking really good with the modern art graphic! (credit to 2wheeler for the idea).

Does anyone here tour on a stock MVP 109? What do you think? Weight doesn't look too bad. I'm looking for a touring only ski to replace my old dynafits with the assumption that these will be the only skis I am able to use this year Will be skiing Tahoe/Eastside. Other considerations are Custom BCs, Moment WC 108s, or the new on3p Billy Goat 108 tour. The MVP sale is a steal though...

I use a veneer mvp with shifts as my touring setup and love it. Yes it's on the heavy side but MVPs are so confidence inspiring in hairy situations. I pushed my limits pretty hard last year touring in coloirs where it was icy and just very steep areas and always felt very confident on them. I'm 6'3, 200# for reference.

I also use them as an everyday resort ski and think they're okay for that. Not as fun/playful/jibby as I'd like but there are other opinions out there that differ from mine. Looking into the Jeffery to replace the MVP here and maybe putting a pin binding on the MVPs.

Summary: love the MVP as a touring ski.

I just pulled the trigger on some FRS in the 188 for dirt cheap!

Keith has them at wholesale prices on the website.

Sale on GPOs and MVPs as well until 8/2

We received the MVP 109 in 187 that I ordered for my 15 year old son. They are really well finished skis. He had been a Volkl fan but now sees the light.

I know there are mags who have ordered a -10 GPO in the past. Seriously considering an ultralight core -10 for a backcountry setup....thoughts? It’s last day of sale....

Thanks, saved me some likely pain. Went w Bc’s. Do wish there was a mid 180’s but went 190

I asked that question a while ago (-10, UL GPO for touring) and was advised here to go with a BC - as much to avoid getting into ski design as anything else (that going -10 doesn't translate perfectly in this application).

I have to say, Keith really stepped it up with the graphics this year. I was always stoked on the skis, but less so the graphics. That MVP 109 is sweet this year.

That's the graphic I have on both of my veneer topsheet Praxis'. Yours came out beautifully. I love the cherry veneer, such a warm tone to it.

God I miss those days of ordering skis and the excitement I would get when I would get my shipping notice... I have owned my 193 MVPs for 7 seasons and they still see regular use in my quiver... I picked up a pair of 192 108 Woodsmans at the end of last year and looking forward to seeing how they compare to the MVP...

    Beautiful ski and congrats...!

Thanks, they are pretty. I still have my 193 MVPs, purchased May of '13, and plan on doing the a/b testing between the 2 lengths. Keith really knows how to dial in the flex, both my MVPs are at 3+ and they hand flex so similarly.

After the ski-off between lengths, the loser will be for sale. Hoping for a long road trip this winter to get some "testing" done. Stoopid covid.

Did you post a photo of your veneer skis here? If you did, it's most likely what influenced me on this build. So... thanks!

And if not, great minds think alike.

Yes, I have posted pics of them in a Praxis thread, but I think it was the 16-17 or 17-18 one, since I got them in the summer of 2017.

I'm excited to see how the oak veneer looks when my order from this spring arrives.
