Moment Skis Discussion
Moment skis thread. There seems to be enough different threads created about Moment, whether they be questions, or info, etcetera, that they should have their own thread. There are specific Praxis and On3p threads. Moment makes rad stuff too, and a lot of mags are on their skis.
I created this thread instead of creating multiple separate threads on questions/experiences I have, and potentially to reduce clutter this fall/winter from a bunch of Moment threads.
Anything you guys want to know on past and future Moment skis, I’m sure others can answer, and I plan on demoing the entire fleet this winter and will report back.

Moment Skis Discussion
Commander 108s seem super stable but still maneuverable. I heard 21 or 22m turn radius, can anyone confirm?

The only TGR-approved skis are ON3P and Praxis.

Moment Skis Discussion
How do I install the Rax system onto my pRAXis Rx 7 souls? Could that be the ultimate ski?
I heard the sold separately rax system is going to be more popular than Shift or Cast on TGR this year.

Ordered a new pair of Deathwishes today to get early season pricing and free shipping. Shocked that they have them available, previous years they did not ship until early fall. Third pair I have had, these will replace a pair with 250 + days on them. Going to put a pair of demo bindings on the old ones to use for rock skis or for guests. My fourth pair of Moments, wife has two, both adult sons, daughter in law and granddaughter. You would think with this being the tenth pair they would throw in a T-shirt

I'm also on the Deathwish train as my go to soft-snow but not deep pow ski. They certainly aren't full out missiles, but rarely do I find their speed limit. Forgiving in bumps and trees, great on groomers for a 112mm ski, plenty stable for small to medium airs, and playful all around.
I've also got Bibbys that come out on bigger days. They go faster and are noticeably better in crud.
And a pair of OG Belafontes in 187. They are absolutely beat to shit, with big Ptex/Jb weld repairs on the base and holding edges in. But as early season BC skis they are okay. Will probably ditch 'em this year for my old set of Deathwishes and rock the new DW inbounds.
For some reason I keep finding Moments cheap which is not a small reason why I ski them. From the $20 Belas, to $50 Deathwishes, to $100 Bibbys and Deathwishes.

Go away haters!! HAHA Betel, thanks for starting this thread, I've been thinking about doing the same for a while.
Intrigued about how the new Deathwish will be with the stiffer flex. I had a pair of 190s for a hot minute. Great ski as a medium flex playful ski that can kind of charge. Great in powder for its width. Wanted them to be more chargey and heavier, ditched them for the RX.
Bibby 190 is so intuitive and solid that I have two pairs now, one serving as rock Bibbys (also was able to find them used cheap as mentioned above, big plus for Moments). They mash chop, and still float and pivot well in deep pow as long as you know how to drive them.
New Commander 108 188. I've seen the specs, and the final shape. I wont judge until hear some real on show testing. But based on the fact that they are 2150 grams, have a 21m radius, and have some major tip taper (looks like more taper than Deathwish and Belafonte), seems closer to a skinny Governor and than a revised Belafonte.
Got a pair of 194 Ghost Trains for next season (handlebar rocker). They are big and beefy and full rockered with a flat section underfoot. I have very high hopes for them, and wonder why they dont get more love. Quote from the factory "Still my favorite ski we have ever made"
I am searching high and low, near and far for OG normal camber Belafonte 187 or 192. PLEASE HELP My 186 Triple Camber Belafontes arent enough ski anymore, a touch too soft.

I bought a pair of DW's last year and I have some Pivots to put on them, but between crap snow and injury I never got around to mounting them. Yeah, I'm lame. I have always mounted on the zero, so talk me out of that if need be. I need to play around on some different mounts to get the feel but if anything I would take them back a little.

I emailed the Moment factory last week and picked up what is likely the last 186cm triple camber Belafonte that exists new in plastic.
I have to give it up to these guys - the customer service was amazing.
Dude rummaged around in the back and found a topsheet blem that had been sitting in a corner for several years.
I too have beat the shit out of my OG 2012 Belafontes and they have hit rock ski status. Pretty wary of the new commander series as the titanal combined with 21m turn radius seems a bit odd.

While I'd rather a radius in the high 20's, I think the old line motherships had a 21ish radius and people seemed to get along with those fine.
As much as anything, I'm suspicious of how light they are. And I don't tend to like skis with much tip taper.

Moment Skis Discussion
I get along with some 21m skis, but not others. I wont write the commanders off because of that.. Some shorter radius skis feel more versatile in the shape of their turns, while others are one-dimensionally short turning. Shreditors and PB&Js can make long turns, while Kartel 108s didnt want to for me. I dont think Moment would design the Commander and not make it capable of long turns at speed.
I really am intrigued by the Meridian 117 too. The full rocker is low profile and the ski looks versatile.

It's not a skinny Gov or a revised Belafonte. Its a totally different beast. We dont like how most skis with major tip taper ski so we know where you're coming from.
To achieve the turn radius we wanted some taper was required. Just know that the 21m is an average of multiple radii.

if anyone ever ends up selling their pair of limited edition pink topsheet M1s in a 187 hit me up. I don't ski the resort much but I covet those skis.
are all the new lineup touring skis full tail rocker?
