Popeye's or KFC ???
It's fucking hot and i don't feel like cooking tonight. Quick poll to see where I get my grub for tonight. Don't give a shit about the sides, just the chicken.

Popeye's unless there's a supermarket that happens to have killer chickens...
Something about the wrinkle in your forehead tells me there's a fit about to get thrown
And I never hear a single word you say when you tell me not to have my fun
It's the same old shit that I ain't gonna take off anyone.
and I never had a shortage of people tryin' to warn me about the dangers I pose to myself.

To answer the question at hand: Popeye's is superior.
But I'll echo KQ: some fresh fruit + a dollop of whipped cream if you don't want to be too healthy.

Grocery store chicken if there is a good one around. KFC has been in our area for a number of years, Popeyes just opened a location and the lines are crazy the first month so far. I also here the local franchise is expensive (higher than other Popeyes from people reporting on FB.

Yeah, I'd rather have a Costco roast chicken over any deep fat fried heart clogger bird. Keep the carcass and bones, stew them for a few hours in a pot to make chicken stock. Better yet, roast your own chicken.

Got me jonesing for Popeyes, so I had to check out where the nearest was. According to Yelp, the closest ones to my house (15 minute drive) both have pretty much all 1 star reviews. I have to drive 20 minutes to get to one that has decent reviews. Maybe the chain has gone downhill, at least locally. Last Popeyes I had was in Colorado last winter, and pretty good. Clean store, hot juicy chicken, no complaints. But I’d check reviews of the location your going to, because I guess it can vary a lot.

Between those, Popeye's, but I've never lived in a place that didn't have a better local option. It'll be in a questionable part of town in a crappy building and everything will have a thin patina of greasy flour.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Dont have a Popeyes although form their commercials they look more betterer than KFC.
Our KFC is combined with a TacoBell.......so good to mix and match genre's (sp) in the unhealthiest way possible.

The publix near us has pretty good fried chicken, which is what the wife always goes gets.
Given the choice, a big ass thing of KFC popcorn chicken FTW."Can't you see..."

KFC can be a decent option, too, and not too unhealthy if you pull the skin off. But their pieces tend to be tiny.
I’ll never forget the time, though, when my wife and I stopped at a KFC in Centralia, WA, while on a road trip. We ordered 4 breasts, and they refused to give them to us! Said we’d be hogging all the breasts from other customers! Weird. Never ran into that before, or after.

Yes, of course, probably a couple hundred pounds over of the years. Ezell's is far better than KFC or Popeye's. But I still prefer my own roast chicken, which got even better when our new home came with a convection oven. My dry rub is simple: Johnny's Salt, pepper and smoked paprika. Rub outside and cavity of bird lightly with olive oil then with dry rub, then allow bird to reach room temperature. First 10 minutes @450F then turn down to 300F until breast meat is 170F.
