    windows live movie maker alternative

I'm looking for a replacement for the old Windows Movie Maker. I got a new PC and WMM has been discontinued. WMM was easy to

use and I don't need anything very fancy. Typically I just download movies from my old Replay XD camera and slap an edit together with minimal

video trickery. I tried the Google recommended Shotcut and don't find it intuitive at all.

    Thanks, Senor Speilbergo

You can still find the old version (2.6) online.

AFAIK it is still one of the best free movie editors around.

No idea why microsoft discontinued - however they do lots of dumb stuff.

    I use Vegas Movie Studio

You can use Microsoft Photos. No multi-track timeline but it is easy to use and has nice filters and effects.

Pick one of these based on the comments and or price (free will narrow it down compared to a Commercial paid licenses.)

Unhappy Can you open WMM? Sorry, I ask question here as I can't open a new thread.

I go to the link address, and succesfully download windows live essentials. However, when install the app, it remind me an error code and automatically quit the installation. I then went to the Microsoft forum, everyone said this error can be fixed up by reinstalling. But I am not that lucky. Anyone here met the same problems, and finally sort it out?
