I hear ya. Spent a ton of time in Chico and the surrounding area. Sounds like Feather River lost their hospital. Paradise a possible loss. A highchool buddy lost his house. NorCal cannot catch a break this year. Fuck me.

The entire City of Oak Park just got mandatory evac orders from Ventura County Fire. The Woolsey Fire. And further west is the Hill Fire.

And now orders went out for all of Malibu a few minutes ago. Looks like Westlake Village too.

2008. The Humboldt fire was pretty similar but spared Paradise and was halted right on the edge of Chico. Burned a fair few homes in between. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_California_wildfires Quite a few in Butte County that year.

PTSD anyone? Didn't sleep for shit last night. I can see one of the Ventura fire from my apartment, the apartment we are living in because of the last fuckin' Ventura fire.

No danger for these, yet, but am monitoring the Woolsey fire closely since it is threatening our friends house, the house we evacuated to and staid for the first two weeks after the Thomas fire. Our friends are out of the country and I have no way of contacting them. I spend periodic texts hoping they get cell service somewhere in the pacific ocean.

    I'm a fuckin' wreck today.

I would say "I can't believe this is happening", but I know exactly what the people of Paradise went through last night. It's not fun.

Camp Fire devastating several friends’ lives. I know a few people who’ve lost everything. Some evacuated and don’t know status of their compounds. Some packed and ready to go.

    This one is hitting hard

^^^That was the worse part, waiting to find out if you have a home or any possessions left. For us it was only about 36 hours before we knew we lost everything, for others it took days. Vibes to all your friends, it really sucks loosing everything, but sucks even more not knowing. Be there for them, it really helps. The out poring of support from friends in the days after the fire makes it tolerable. Not to mention all the support from mags here after what we went through.

Thanks MikeyB, and sorry you are being affected more directly this time.

That's just horrific. Can't imagine the fear and pain those poor people experienced.

I can't believe the Wooley fire is at the edge of Malibu already. That's a lot of terrain it covered in a small time.

These winds aren't even particularity bad, as Santa Ana winds go. This could be a whole lot worse.

The good news, the Pacific Ocean is a reasonably good fire break.

Crazy live footage of the fire on the edge of Malibu. There wasn't any firefighters around until the last hour or so.

It'll reach the ocean or PCH before that, it won't matter much.
