I would just crank it ^^ to boost mode to ride farther at higher speeds, rail them up hill berms all the while thinking ... braaap\

I will ride up & down in full boost cuz boost is so fun in the dh berms, where you gotta cut back the full boost mode is that slippery sidehill stuff over rocks & shit that can fuckyou up and toss you down a sidehill

DO NOT ride without full pads & helmet and you want good stuff cuz the weight doenst matter

YT has some big Decoy reveal tomorrow. I hope it's the 700 battery and fits '19 and '20 models.

Narrowed our search to these bikes in order of preference for me:

    1) marin alpine trail e2. Med
    2) yt decoy large
    3) specialized kenevo comp med
    4) santa cruz bullitt med

    Preference for wife:

    1) yt decoy med
    2) marin alpine trail e2 small
    3) specialized kenevo comp small

Cannondale Neo lt1 looks like a possible as well... however not available for a while.

    Availability is the primary issue.

If anyone has a line on in stock marin med and kenevo comp small that would be amazing! Please PM.

Pulled the trigger on yt decoy mx medium for wife and large for me. I think I would be a little happier with the SC bullit, but the price is retarded. The other bikes in our list are pretty much unobtainable.

Wife 5'5 1/2" with about a 30 1/2" inseam since her hips are a but higher than my stumpy legs. Hoping the medium is the right call.. anyone have experience eth the small decoy? YT customer service thought she would be cramped on the small.

And wow! These bikes sell out quickly!

Also, anyone finding the fox 38 chassis too stiff resulting in deflection?

Anyone riding the yt with a coil vs air shock?

    Tyx!

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

I tried searching but can’t pin down the right search terms.

Anybody use an e-fat bike for ski access? In N.Idaho there’s tons of skiing but most of it is accessed by several miles of flat forest road skinning. I don’t want the hassle of a sled, but an e-fat seems like it would get me up anything that’s groomed or with a decent snomo track in order to quickly access the actual ski terrain

I used it. Just know that on the way back if it's slushy, it's almost impossible to ride.

Yeah! I’ve used our e-fat bikes to access ski terrain in La Plata Canyon. It works awesome on flattish climbs.

My mid-drive Bafang w/studded Wrathchilds gets me up Independence Pass and to the Maroon Bells.

Surface conditions will effect your range and stability.

Hub engagement, I kinda feel like it doesn't really matter on the Ebike. Thoughts?

a positive attitude will not solve all of your problems, but it may annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I’ve been trying to test the range a bit to see how far I can go without worrying about a dead battery. I went full turbo yesterday, 18 miles and 2200’ vert and still had 37% battery. In trail mode I figure I’ll be safe at 30 miles and 4,000’. I shouldn’t need more than that very often.

Agree. Don’t matter at all. Can’t ratchet on an Ebike.
Durability is waaay more important. Star ratchet FTW.

gotta allow the motor to freewheel so the ratchety bits ( most likely a spragg clutch ) on an E-bike with a center mounted motor, are in the motor

but only the pedals go backwards without any rachety sounds so there is no noise when you back pedal and the chain does not ever go backwards so lubing the chain is different

if that's what he is asking

Depends how you've been programmed. With Bosch and Brose I know for sure a shop can adjust motor lag. Bosch by the program picked and Brose by adjusting parameters. Older (2-3+ yr) old bafang ultras could be programmed extensively too but I never tried to adjust lag with my commuter.

I suppose you could use your brake to ratchet if you have brake cutouts and practice a lot.

Ultimately motor lag reduces the need to ratchet.

I have bosch cx, rode today and i definitely can ratchet. True, sometimes you have to push a little harder, as initially the motor provides less assistance.
