Which he likes since it allows him to ride further, harder, for a longer workout.

Me, I enjoy anaerobic, because I am stupid.
Stupid is a thing around here. You'll get along fine!

Yeah I've got it pretty much figured out now but the lag still gets me a few times a ride. I mostly keep it in the low setting but as my heart rate climbs towards 150 bump it up one and sustain in the 140's and when it spikes (or gets steeper than my damaged self wants to fuck with) BOOST it and cruise up the craziest steepest hills without blowing up or make a fun techy move when I'm already tired. The other thing it really does is teach you to pedal smoothly. With a torque sensor if your stroke is uneven the bike gets really jerky especially in the two higher settings. I know that overall I'm riding quite a bit faster than before the heart attack but really only on the uphills, most other places I'm still a slug but that's by choice. I like being in the woods.

Good info, did not know you had a HA. A buddy of mine had one back in late March, went to triple bypass surgery and was riding this past weekend during the local mtn bike fest.

Heart health is a concern for me as high BP and HA runs in my family.

A triple bypass is no joke. Riding 2 1/2 months after is pretty damned solid recovery time! Good for him. I probably would have gotten started riding again sooner if a sloppy doc in the hospital hadn't fucked me up leading to other problems. This e-mtb has been the greatest recovery tool I could ever have asked for.

New Bosch is looking good. Not interested in that display though. I'd smash that in quick order. Myst be a work around. Ut should give a ton of options for bike choices for next year. All the bikes that had Bosch motors had 460+ long chainstays. Radon chainstay was 499mm. Handled like a cruise ship and the bit of extra weight didn't help. A lot of bikes had that motor(giant, kona, trek etc etc). Kona and giant could have some well priced good riding bikes.

I'm fast becoming bitter, as elderly fuckwits do 30 mph on the bike paths near my home.

Sometimes I make small unpredictable pedestrian movements that should prompt an evasive, defensive riding response from them, nothing. Zero.

    bitterness increasing daily.

Get a lifelike doll. Size of a 3 year old. See if they react when it suddenly tumbles into their path.

I give it 2 years before everyone figures out these are mopeds and not bikes and they get regulated accordingly.

So people should watch out for your inability to walk a straight line? You need to pay attention just as much as other users. Pedestrians have way to many rights in North America. Stupid people walking out into traffic expecting all cars to stop should be fined or better run over. They won't make the mistake again....

Anyone here using a BBS HD with an adapter to allow use of regular bike chainrings? Like this one:
    https://www.ebay.com/i/173894768952?...b4b487fff663b5

I'm using the stock 46t chainring that came with the BBS HD motor, but am thinking about trying an adapter in order to use a smaller chainring, for better climbing torque. Just curious if anyone here has experience with that setup, and if chainline turned out OK.

Yes, you douche, they should watch for pedestrians, and everybody/thing else and ride at a speed they can safely handle.

I commute on an ebike and I even I have wanted to clothes line other e-riders on a couple occasions

I read the specs, it's a carbon frame mated to the lightest Bafang mid motor available. Battery is integrated to the frame but also removable. Not sure current tech could get the weight down any Moar.

Maybe future battery technology could bring the weight down possibly.
