The replacement AFD's appear to be designed for the dual WTR/DIN bindings as the interface has a circular button to replace the dual mode WTR/Alpine screw (old pivots had a rectangular interface). This seems weird since data shows that the dual mode bindings support gripwalk in the alpine mode. However, I replaced the new gripwalk AFD's for an old set of pivots with the rectangular interface and it seems fine (all measurements are the same across the different interfaces) except for a small gap between the binding and AFD.

I do have an extra set of the gripwalk AFD's that I may par with.
The new GW compatible P12s/14s still have that hole for the screw on the dual Alpine/WTR AFD, so the GW AFD physically fits on the Dual toe, but the toe wings are different so you end up with a giant gap between the boot sole and the AFD if you do that swap. I tried to make it work, but it doesn't.

Interesting that they seem to work on the older toes though — I remembered the shape of the AFD being pretty different where it interfaces with the rest of the toe so I'd assumed that wouldn't work either. But I haven't tried that one.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Looking for Pivot 18 Alpine AFDs with 4mm+1mm toe shims (could do this separately if you don't have both). I have a pair of GripWalk AFDs that I would rather keep, but I could do a trade if necessary.

Why are you looking for the alpine + shims? GW afd gives you the same height.
I’ve got a bunch of shims I can send tho

Yeah it gives a similar height but for my Alpine (non-GW) boots the connection seems better on the Alpine AFD.

    PMd about the shims.

anyone have a new(ish) pair to unload, any din, 95-100mm brakes?

also i have a pair of black matte p18's 105mm brakes from 2006.. but the heels are super stiff and there's some play in them. push boot down and they don't snap up, just goes up about halfway.. there's a lot of friction, have to pull them up by hand. probably something that can be fixed if you take them apart and grease or what not.. but not something i'm going to fuck with

    skini,

I've got a decent condition set of 115 brakes on my 12's and need some 130's by mid next week. If you think you could get them here in time I'd trade those for yours - each cover shipping. I could even throw in $10 for a sixer for ya. PM me if interested

Pmed. Let's make it happen. I might need quick instruction as to how to remove the 130 brakes.

FS: FKS/Pivot Bindings: Used complete sets, and parts, mix-and-match

    To remove:

Use two hands to transition the dildo to the up position, watch your fingers. Use a pozidriver to unscrew the adjustment tubes a few turns at a time, alternating sides until the brake assembly separates from the dildo.

Reinstall is the opposite, but must be done carefully to avoid cross-threading.

How much are they worth to you? I'm curious about fixing the heels.

Thank you. That seems to be the easier way compared to popping the bottom plate and disassembling.

You can. It's not hard, but it can be a little tedious putting it all back together.
