Some Italian places do GF really well! My partner has celiac, so let me know what things you’d like and I can give some recs.
We like Fox and the Knife for Italian, Coppa does a GF night that is quite good.
For really nice No.9 Park does GF very well and makes gf rolls if you tell them in advance, and they are stellar.
The new cafe Verviene in Cambridge is excellent and completely GF—one owner has celiac and the others daughter has celiac.

Right now, I have no idea, I'm just exploring; mostly it depends on where L wants to go. She's never been to Boston. I think we'll be staying at the Parker House for the nights of the 16th & 17th, out to Worcester for the 18th, then either back to Boston for a couple of nights or do some coast time along the Cape.
Over $500/night is out of the picture, but again, I'm trying to sort out options. I like a restaurant in the place or walking access.
Awesome, thanks.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

FYI Jacob Wirth building just burned down
If you’re already in Boston for 2 nights, get down to the cape after Worcester. ASAP. Either Falmouth/popponesset/cotuit area or get out to Brewster/Orleans/chatham or further (welfleet truro ptown). Brewster/Orleans is pretty central if you want to do day trip shit further down cape while still having plenty of options. Chatham Bars Inn and Wequassett are $$$$$nice$$$$$$!!!
Hit the Google a bit, both areas are niceDecisions Decisions

Boston recommendations?
Congrats on the daughter going to WPI! That’s a great school. We used to race against their ski team. I think Mark and Laura still run it (and USCSA).

Wife wants to go back to beantown after dropping off daughter at WPI.
How hard should I fight this?
She's never been and loves museums for which there's a dearth in ya auld PNW and lots in Boston. She's going through a living hell taking care of her failing parents and needs a break.
But I've lived in Cambridge in August and despite the memories being a little fuzzy, I do remember the heat.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Sounds like a great plan. DeCordova in Lincoln is great and the grounds are beautiful plus you could also do a tour of the Gropius House nearby which is really cool.
Harvard art museum is free and top notch—probably my favorite spot in town for its size and collection. Harvard Natural History/Peabody museum is fun—the glass flower exhibit is stunning. I haven’t been without kids, but we are there at least once a month and finding new stuff all the time.
MassArt has a small collection that you could see if you did Gardner/MFA in a day.
Haven’t been to the ICA in a while.
Peabody Essex is also very good!
It’s the total opposite direction…but if the goal is museum saturation, consider schlepping to MassMoca in western MA. You’re already an hour closer from Worcester. The Clark is also a beautiful spot.
