Looking for Interview Participants for PhD Research on Backcountry Skiing/Boarding

    Hey everyone,

I'm a skier and currently completing my PhD that focuses on digital media and commercialization around the backcountry. I'm looking for anyone who rides in the backcountry or is involved in the industry who might be interested in doing an anonymous (a pseudonym will be used), recorded interview over Skype etc.

So whether you're an athlete, content producer or just a regular skin-track slogger like me I'd love to hear from you. You can also view the full info statement for the project here:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lws...ew?usp=sharing

Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, would like to learn more or are interested in getting involved.

The spelling and grammar atrocities found within the project statement make me cringe. The importance of effective writing seems to be lost upon the masses these days. Carry on....

OP -you should seek out a user here with handle “rise to the top”. You’ll get great insight re: what to carry in a pack, as well as the pros & cons of various transition techniques. He’s been featured in Backcountry Magazine.

What's the difference between having a PhD in digital media and commercialization around the backcountry and a pizza?

A pizza can feed 2-3 people.

Perhaps this doctoral candidate is building a case for pizza delivery in the backcountry using digital whatever, and understands that a fucking business plan is unneccessary at this stage.

I like this idea too. I think a backcountry pizza delivery service is something even VC's would look at. Could you do it in 30 minutes without messing up the skintrack?

"Why is the research being done?
The purpose of the research is to examine how people experience the backcountry, as well as the
relationships that exist between the practices, digital media and commercialisation of the
    backcountry."

    Sounds really well thought out.

Great! So looking forward to this!

(In this post I'm hearing John Candy)

So where do I collect my PhD for skiing?

I've been told there was a PhD and something about skiing. It sounded pretty good, so I rushed right over. And here I am!

Haha. Skied, I skied right over. Is what I should have said, cause that's what I did, yes sir. Skied right over. Goto ski to get that PhD. Yes. Skied here...on two skis ya know. You kneed two of them for some reason. Anyway...

...That won't interfere with me recieving my skiing PhD, ..as promised, .. by you.

So do I talk to you or Doris over there? She seems like a lovely lady. Lady Doris.

Is she giving them out? Oh, ,oh , ohoh okay. I'll just wait over here for a bit then.

I gotta tell ya I'm pretty excited about this whole thing really.

Not one PhD in the family. I'm the first to get one. My parents will be so happy, overjoyed really, jumping up and down...god rest their souls.

So which desk do I line up in front of? ...

Was it a glock or a sig? I do remember that the holster had some issues. His full IV kit and that big fuckin’ knife were noteworthy too.

OP, to that point, your thesis should consider the implications of social media and the 2nd Amendment on the commercialization of effective backcountry handgun holsters.
