I am not excusing the behavior of these clowns.

But if you want to ask the biologists about the other stuff...

Mountain goat dispersal and range expansion already have created concerns for the National Park Service at Olympic, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Rocky Mountain national parks, where the goats have traveled from introduced populations. Mountain goats are considered non-native/exotic at these parks also.

In consultation with Utah and Colorado state wildlife agencies, the National Park Service has developed procedures to remove mountain goats that include both live capture and lethal removal methods. Methods selected will depend on variables including the goat's location, visitor and staff safety, risk of escape before capture, availability of a relocation site, and staff availability.

Not native? did people move them there, or did they migrate.
Seems to another example of the government playing god.

Rather than hand wringing and spending money, why not just open it up to more hunting.
People still hunt in Canada last I heard.

Mountain Goats Poached on Quandry Peak

No idea if groups/govt down there have moved goats from one area to another at some time in the past, but mtn goats, especially young billies will move to find fresh terrain and unrelated mates. Really makes ones day catching sight of a stark white goat in low elevation heavy timber many miles from usual goat terrain. Isolated herds can and do become extirpated due to disease/parasite or extreme winters. As the nannies will make the attempt to migrate far more infrequently than the billies, repopulating an area naturally is far more difficult than their removal. But it does happen.

Open season for mtn goat does exist in a few areas, but the vast majority of mtn goat are taken under limited entry/lottery tags. They are also a species that has a mandatory reporting requirement to the ministry upon a successful harvest.

I believe the goats were introduced by people prior to it being a national park

All humans. Caucasians were just a bit late to the invasion.

Maybe if we separated them from their kids these goats would be afraid to migrate
