To cover our bases, hows the 5.7 Hemi dodge used from 2002-2009?

OK, not great. Cheap to fix, interiors fall apart. Nobody I know has one that made it to 200K with out major work.

4.7 Dodges on the other hand have a reputation for exploding. There are plenty of high mile Dakotas, Durangos and 1500s out there. But it is a dice roll.

I'd confirm it's really the 300 six. He says it's a 5.0L, which would normally refer to the 302. 300/6 is normally called a 4.9L. Then again, he may just be a moron, only a moron would buy those rims. Only a moron uploads 19 photos to a used car ad and not one underhood shot.

Maybe yeww can talk'm down with some-a-that ol' fast city slicker talkin'.

Probably time for “every chassis part all at once”
Tie rods and ball joints and wheel bearings and ujoints and shocks and radius arm bushings....edit: and brakes!

I'm not seriously considering buying it, and those rims are definitely a bit much. Still, it's in impressive condition considering the vintage. Photos can be deceiving, but compared to the condition you usually see the bodies of these trucks in it's cherry.

I don't know that I would call anything with rusted rocker panels cherry, but maybe that's just me.

Bought a 2001 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3L with 100k miles 5 years ago and she still runs like a top after much maintenance. If I had to do it again I would go 3/4 ton with the 6L, transmission and transfer case are stronger, dont ask me why... If thats too much truck for you get a 1/2 ton with the manual shifting transfer case, the auto-track push button one has clutches inside that inevitably wear out and its got a smaller chain that breaks. And as mentionned before towing is not good for the 4L60e (3/4 clutch pack is weak and wears out) so find one that hasnt hauled. Manual windows is a bonus on any GMC trust me.
