@svs That may just yet happen. Might swing through the park on the way back. I'll have bright blue pants and a red beard if we're up there.

Well I'm psyched that the adventure has become real. Skiing that Poma all to yourself will probably never happen again. Way to go opening the ski area for 'em...

Glad to hear you connected with my local friends, good folks to meet and spend time with. You can bet they will be amped to see you two in winter at the villy. Still can't believe they did the long roll around, long haul.

Nice fucking cornices by the way.

Hopefully baby bear and skijunky are gonna make it. Pass still closed on wyo side updated on wydot 10 minutes ago.

Way to bust a move for all of you and Jenks' dad.

The pass is rarely a cakewalk but somehow always delivers. Wish I coulda made it. It will be there forever though, next time mags.

Hope the snow is great today. Ya gotta pay to play and sometimes it all comes back to you in a big refund of awesome summer ski adventuring.

Get sum. Say my name at the top of Rock creek you dogs!

Where to begin, said goodbye to jongos friends in the morning, brkfast at Regis,
Drove the pass with blue sky and sunshine.
A little worried today wouldn't be able to top yesterday's awesomeness, but it did indeed.
Gate keeper was manning the gate let us through with a welcoming smile and a fist bump.
Bought our tickets and got dialed in.
    Patroller quote of the day;
"the chutes arent closed we just havent gone up to take down the closed sign and probably arent gonna. Have fun" lol
Got the go ahead on a Beartooth BBI for next summer from the owner. He got a kick out of the '19 sticker that said
    everything goes until it doesn't!
Spent the day lapping hourglass in superb conditions.
The level of skiers up there is higher than any other place ive skied this year. Truly humbling when you watch Crazy Karl and Sander and posse throwing down off the 35 ft cornice.
Whom by the way are totally personable and way cool. Star struck and honored to share the same runs with as well as other things...
All in all this worked out better than planned and will probably be a adrenalin filled end to my season.
More pics and vids to come but the pros were the one's doing the damn thing today on such a scale it was incredible.

Ps... Abe and I survived several attacks and ambushes from cougars down in their natural habitat in Red Lodge.

Sounds like you're missing some pics from the trip report. What is the Red Lodge cougar's drink of choice?

Solid trip, excellent bash-in, bummed I had to miss it (but less bummed to have passed Go & collected a few hundred dollars on a new contract role).

SirVic, there's no need to drive all the way to Montuckistan to ride a high-speed poma... they have one at Loup Loup and I've survived it just fine (my snowpants, OTOH, got a bit shredded but I hear that just attracts more cougars to the bar)

This time next year I'll be warming the corporate benches so I'm game for an inaugural, BBI-backed, Basin Bash-In

Still single. Somewhere in Montana there are too many pictures of me at the bar. I hope to never see them.

The skiing was fun, all you guys were missed. Conditions were great both days though SVS got skunked on hucking the big cornice with the pros. Something clicked on this trip and I finally get like I could actually ski for the first time in year (or more?)

Pretty psyched you guys had good conditions and a good time, SVS. I’ve spent months of my life up there, it doesn’t get old. Special place.

And to answer the drink question, you don’t have to buy them a drink at all. That can be a rowdy bar. Some old lady wanted to go home with me once after I tried but failed to pick a fight at that bar, she said something like “take that energy out on me, boy!”

    Love this place.
Skied it for the first time two summers ago (2017) with Vets.
Complete antithesis to where I normally ski/work in Tahoe, that's for sure.
I regaled many a folk with how you have to ski a black diamond just to get to the beginner terrain. And how the only "amenities" are two port-a-potties that more often than not were out of TP. And how "the lodge" is a small Airstream trailer. And how I fell off the Poma when I tried to put my skis perpendicular to the slope and hop/jump turn when the disc came whizzing by. And how, when I went to the back of the line everybody pushed me back to the front cheering me on to do it again (you wouldn't get that kind of non-ironic goodwill at any of the hills in Tahoe, seriously...you'd get "jonged" and told to go home!). I thought it was a fluke, but then on the next day some chick on a snowboard biffed it on the Poma and again everybody cheered her on and was super supportive until she got back on and rode to the top. Awesome. And how patrol just said "Sure" when we asked if the rest of the ridge outside of the "normal" hill was open.
Also, being able to ski in Montana and Wyoming in the same day (the first day we were there in '17 BTB was closed, so me'n Vets skied a patch in Montana and then went to that killer bowl above BTB where everybody car shuttles) was tres cool.
The easy-access "side country" that is steep and all along the Pass is so cool, too.
And Red Lodge ain't a half bad place to apres, either.

The planets didn't align for a return trip this summer, but me'n Vets keep threatening to crash one of these BBI joints...

Thanks for the stoke all y'all that are gettin' yours and then some at BTB this month.
    Love it.
