Nice! And I love the stick-it-or-go-home call-out by the owners.

You can get some riding in down lower closer to town - Silver Run, Palisades, Willow Creek, etc. They're not destination rides, but worth doing if you're already in town.
I rode line creek last weekend, there's a few snow drifts near the trailhead at state line and on the top of the downhill into line creek. Unless you're worried about walking/riding through a little snow it's good to go.

Passed closed at state line. 40 degrees and raining hard down in red lodge. Snowing up high this storm is packing a punch I don't see the pass opening tomorrow either. Plan accordingly if you are making travel plans.

Did a little dumpster diving at rock creek headwall resort today while others went and skied the piddly patch.
A lil ski ballet from Tuesday on the Gardiner headwall.

So did you have to boot pack out there or is that car shuttle route? I bought my splitboard but didn’t use it. Basically took few turns in the resort and took off for camping.

Rock creek headwall involves a +/-30 min walk from Stateline to the headwall with car shuttle at the bottom and Gardiner involves a 3 min hike to the top from a pull out and 10-15 min hike out of the hole to a car shuttle. Both are as much a part of the experience as the Basin is. On years with more snow there are much more possibilities. Most include some form of hiking vs skinning

So, in your unprofessional opinion, when's the Basin gonna call it quits this season? I saw highs in the 90s in Easton this week so I'm guessing very soon

By popular daughter demand I took the second week of June off again. If nothing works out for us this winter, the June thing should give the vaccine time to work its magic.

Asked her if she wanted to do a day of racecamp, no! She just wants to rip the steeps.

The Beartooth Basin camping, hiking, fishing, skiing thing is hard to beat.

Second week of June you say? We've talked of doing a long trip around then with the camper, hitting yellowstone on one end of it. Would be cool if it works out, My last two beartooth trip attempts have been foiled, third time's the charm right?

For sure. Thinking we'll give ourselves a wide window in hopes of at least a few nice days. That was around the same time we were thinking.

Smart. I can probably push it back a week if I have to but that depends on the pto calendar.

The wife is coming too. Blue Ox in Eau Claire is normally that week but it is postponed to August so she is all about it. Nothing will keep her from her Bluegrass.
