That's wild. Well, I was stuck in a loop, watching the forecast, trying to decide, but I guess I'm gonna postpone again. Tentatively planning to head up there next weekend.

Yeah. fuck.
I was in the park when you fired this off.. Turned around at Dunraven. Disappointed to say the least. 240 miles, 5 hrs RT. Oh well, ya gotta pay to play.
And the weekend is far from over. I told the boys if the conditions suck bad, then roll through the park and we party in JH...

If anyone else is coming from that direction and wants to go for it, the drive out the East entrance and north isn't bad. It's a lot of miles but it's relatively boring (thus faster and easier) driving being low elevation and arid.
I'm definitely missing Red Lodge right now, sitting around in summer weather and looking at winter weather warnings on Facebook.

our plan was to head up tmrw but I guess that's out now
Andrew still sorta wants to go up into the Lamar valley regardless of weather but we'll see if he still feels like that after he gets home tonight after his 3rd day in a row driving to jellystone
weather in town looks better for the weekend than was predicted earlier this wk so keep us posted if you guys decide to move it to the Tetons and we can party.skid luxury

fucking sucked today
Had a terrible time making runs off the headwall, getting shuttled back up to the top 10 deep in the colo-rad-bro school bus,
Stag burgers, and snow creek saloon.
This place is So lame

Still going for it. Fingers crossed, but approaching from the north looks to be clear and dry. Storm clouds seem to have cleared out for the most part.
Lotta snow in the Bridger, absaroka, and crazy ranges. Looked like winter on Blackmore still.

Incredible day. Started with the gate being closed and just before we embarked for another hike to rock creek the owner of the Basin came and opened the gate for skiers only.
Abe, myself and are camp/ski friends from jackson had the whole ski area to ourselves.
First run a little chattery but got better with each additional run. After skiing till last poma and being asked politely to head to stateline so basin crew could secure the gate we pondered how a afternoon rock springs lap would be.
Turns out we were in luck perfect corn and much better skiing down main chute then the other one we skied yesterday.
Capped that with a wristwrocket/ rock throwing apres where our car was waitung for us.
We got lucky. Sounds like tomorrow might be even better.

Strange day to say the least. Saw the morning update about letting skiers through the gate, but when we got up around 11:30 they shut the gate to any more cars coming from the MT side. Nobody manning the gate for a solid 1-2 hours while we hiked and skied around. No communication. It's like a short window existed for only a 2 hours to get through and then after that they abandoned the idea. Probably saw at least 30 or more people show up and then turn around after waiting 45 min to get through. Skied headwall and some areas up there, but people up there were completely in the dark with no updates.
Headwall was dope as hell though, and may head through tomorrow with the weather being so nice in RL.
