Shark-free snow riding
Snow riders have many things to be happy about. Like sharks. Happy that sharks seem content to stay in the liquid form of water. Instead of lurking beneath snow, for example. How many of us would be as enthusiastic about skiing if sharks were a factor like they are with surfing? I can't fathom being constantly worried that at any moment a shark could come up from the deep snowpack and rip off my leg. Any appendage really.
When comparing any given sport's annual death rate, and ratio of "limbs-lost" due to shark attacks, any number greater than 0 is pretty much unacceptable in my mind. Now, if that means surfers are more core than skiers because dealing with sharks is routine for them...hey, I'm more than happy to give surfers all the "cool" points they want.
I couldn't be happier that when I ski every month, it's in the 'shark-free', OTHER, recreational form of water.
