I'm pleased to see none of you dentists buy into this shit. I was expecting some flat Earth troll to find this thread. I have been attacked by them on line. They don't swear or call you names but get militant in their efforts to silence you.

there is a water atmosphere around the earth that prevents anything from going to outer space

we are still being ruled by the British
the federal reserve is not run by the government (the Vatican)

he had "proof" for each of his beliefs
I have a gash in my tongue from trying not to laugh in his face

I would explain to your neighbor that these beliefs have a common thread--he does not trust authority. The obvious cause for this is that as a child he was sexually abused by an authority figure--father, priest, scoutmaster, even baby sitter. He should go to a hypnotist--preferably one without any academic degrees, so that he can bring back the memories of the abuse. Then he must contact the abuser and confront them and get them to admit the abuse.. Then he should report back to you so you can notify the authorities--once justice has been done he will be free to trust again. If The guilty party is dead, then he's screwed.
