I used to administer the program in SW Colorado, and we caught some and prosecuted a few. But it has to be fairly egregious. And yes, no doubt, this made news due to her former fame, and she got caught because of her former fame. OTOH, she never would have made money from a book deal without her former fame.

Nah, it's not her game. She's a pseudo con-artist who thinks she's smarter than anyone else she encounters. She did an interview for a local online magazine, The Stranger, with a black, female journalist that was interesting. She was combative and defensive, all the while trying to support her place in 'the struggle'. I found the journalist's take on her, her book, and their interview to be interesting and revealing of the kind of person she is. Here's the link to the interview.
