Ideal Shuttle Vehicle
What have you guys found to be the ideal reliable shuttle vehicle without breaking the bank? We had been using an old Honda XL250 but was becoming too unreliable and finally shit the bed after several C laps on the Green last fall. Looked into eBikes but they are as much (or more) than a dual-sport bike. Knobby tires on a 50cc scooter?

What, you don't like paying $120 for a shuttle?

I rode one recently and couldn't believe how fast it was (was only a stage one). I think an ebike would be ideal as far as reliability and ease of transport goes. Recharging in the field might be tricky. Though for the same price, I could get a newer WR450F that could double at a fun trail bike and shuttle vehicle.
I did find another 250 (1986 - previous one was a '78) that is tempting.
Also looked at those CT90's on CL. They look pretty sweet but I was surprised how expensive they are for a moped. Seems like they have somewhat of a cult following.

Ideal Shuttle Vehicle
I rode my buddies onewheel and was very impressed. Skateboard feel w good terrain capability. My buddy rides his up and down some very steep hills without a problem.
The price tag is too painful for me still

The price is a bit steep for sure...however, you could put the one wheel in the boat and not have to leave it locked up at the put in and you don't have to go back for it.
That is however, a lot of $120 shuttles...."We had nice 3 days in your autonomous mountain realm last weekend." - Tom from Austria (the Rax ski guy)

i get guide rates on my shuttles
and i dont even guide
good luck with one wheel on that washboard shuttle outta browns park
funny the road gets more paved and once that vehicle eating j ewing bypass went in its gravy compared to old
and the shuttle price keeps goin up
shit i remeber $5 a gallon gas in dj and the shuttles were cheaper

beginning of season I buy 2 cases of craft brew, drop 1 each at the fishing stores with some business cards, guys fly in solo, rent a truck and need it driven down river so if you want me to get up in the dark I wana make 40 a shuttle on the relatively short shots
there isn't really enough business to get all organized with a shuttle vehical so we drive up in your vehical, my buddy does do some of the shuttles on his bicycle cuz he likes to ride it, but sometimes it could be cold &/or snowing/ gravel roads and he didnt like those trips very much
we are independant but he will shoot business my way if he is too busy and we do talk beginning of season to price fix
and the long 12-15 hr shuttles I wana make 20-25$ an hr and I will take care of storing your vehicalLast edited by XXX-er; 05-25-2018 at 12:56 PM.

Or a chinese knockoff of the same....
This thing has tried to kill me more times than I want to talk about.
Beast of burden took me, my and most of my buddies gear and towed said buddy on his MTB 4 miles up a fireroad to snowline...
Nut to but... This is what happens when you are too hungover to plan the morning shuttle properly

I bought a TW200 for $800 four years ago. It’s cosmetically a piece of shit but starts first or second kick. Can’t tell you the last time the carb has been cleaned or oil changed. If things are busy, I use my thumb. Before the TW, an old cyclocross bike.
