Roommate just bought this Capri 25. Will be quite the upgrade from his previous 2 knot shit box, Hunter 22.

Sweet boat! My dad has a Capri 25 moored in Sandpoint Idaho. It’s been a great boat for him

See you on the lake this summer.

Definitely an upgrade over any Hunter.

Also, this is one of the corniest youtube channels out there but it is quickly becoming my go to. Old guy and his son just cruising around the northeast looking at cool old sailboats for sale.

Ha! I love this channel!! Randeee!!! Oh! There you are!! I never even really saw how SV interiors were until I watched these guys.

Capt Q has a very “sail it now’ kinda approach to things like spray painted spark plug wires on the motor but hey... I would too!!

    Dinty Moore lol.

Island Windjammers, did a weeklong Windwards sail out of Grenada a couple years ago and just now processing how much fun it was on the water.

I just signed up for Basic Keelboat with Windworks, 50% off for weekday classes this summer! I’ll try to get a little time in on a Hobie on Lake CDA as well prior to the big boat class.

Nice. Island hopping on a charter is on the short list. There used to be an outfit in the Antipodes that ran participatory charters on a tall ship all over the south pacific. They even had open water legs to Easter Island and Pitcairn. Looks like that venture closed shop (Soren Larsen is the ship) which is too bad. Different scale but I think something like that would be an incredible experience.

Back when the fam owned a boat we rented it out through Moorings, one of the biggest operations in the BVI and Caribbean at large. Chartered our own bareboats through Moorings after selling to this day. Easy peasy. For non-sailors or new sailors they offer crewed charters and sailing school as well.

Should have known there was a sailing thread here at TGR. Since BC is burning and the smoke is making biking and skiing hard on the lungs, thought buying a boat with a girl would be a good way to pass the summer… what could possibly go wrong?!

So far it has been amazing. Sure, lots of time, little bit of money and a whole lot more to learn, but hoping to eventually use it for some great ski adventures in the future!

I just signed up for a learn to sail course through my local yacht club. I'd sailed a number of times in grad school, but moved away from the coast before I ever became decent at it. I decided that now is the time to get back into it given that I live in the middle of the desert.
