It's a lot of oil. It's probably not good, but how bad it is depends on where it's coming from.

Edit: I see now the location, yeah that's not good.

When it stops leaking you've got problems!

Is that ribbed case the transmission case? Those oval holes are really clean-cut -- so it doesn't look like something exploded out from inside. Also, the stuff inside the holes is rusty, so if that stuff inside is the inside of the manual transmission, it shouldn't be rusty.

What are we looking at here?

I don't see the problem. Those are speed holes aren't they?

Yea, that's the transmission case. I just crawled under because the exhaust got LOUD today and noticed those three holes in the tranny case. I've been running this rig 40 miles daily and those holes didn't happen overnight. Thoughts?

Looks like a bellhousing with vents for the clutch.

    What transmission/ what vehicle?

If that's just the clutch inside there, that's not really the inside of the transmission. The oil may be from something like a rear main seal, or a valve cover leaking down from the top of the engine.

    I concur.

What are we looking at/for? Lots of oil? Meh. That’s not too unusual, Especially for a European vehicle.

2000 chevy s10. ZR2. The oil doesn't concern me at all. It's the three large holes on the underside of the transmission case. Maybe they're supposed to be there??

Maz is right, that's bell houses and you're looking at the clutch through the holes.

Never seen holes like that, but your clutch is dry, so guessing you're alright? Keep on top of your fluid levels, looks like maybe engine oil.

Vent for dust and heat. Access point for clutch or flexplate bolts.

As far as the oil goes the rig is north of 260k and not even down a quart between oil changes.

If it was a rear main seal, I'd think the clutch would be oily. All Chevy's leak from the rocker covers...it's a given.
That muffler looks like it should have holes in it. Ear plugs or ear buds with load music will be your cheapest option.

Yeah, Mazderati is on it. The holes are from the factory, not new. Ever seen a hole that concentric after an explosion?

Access or venting by design. Oil is likely rear main by my guesstimate but also maybe higher on the engine. Get an oil change lately? Did someone fuck that up? cockeyed filter. Stupid shit happens. Clean it off and then start searching for a stream to pinpoint.

    Or sell that old fuck.

My '95 pathy leaks a quarter size spot with each start-up. Fuck it, top the oil and go.
